It is the ideal place for me

Arbor View is all on one floor, there are no stairs or elevators it is spread out all over 13 acres of land which is just unbelievable there is much space. I love it here. It is an older facility but they have really been working on bringing up up to date when it comes to the apartments, repainting and getting new carpet. My apartment is completely finished with a nice kitchen with 4 burners and a stove. We have a nice balcony that brings in so much natural light. It is a pet friendly. The meals have been a lit bit of a problem - they have been back and forth between getting new kitchen directors and kitchen staff. Assisted living, memory care, skilled nursing and a rehabilitation center is just right down the road from the independent living. It is all on the same land.

These were nice communities but my loved one wanted to have independent living in the same building and this community did not offer that. My loved one did not want to have to walk to get to the dining area.

Good experience

We chose Arbor View because of the location as well as the value for the money. The apartment sizes here are good, it is perfect for what he needs. He also enjoys the meals that are made here. They are trying to open more things up, everyone's been vaccinated now. I would recommend to others looking.

My Review of Arbor View

I would actually live there. It is a little dated, for the money it is good though. The community is in a quiet cul-de-sac. They are doing updates to the rooms and the community. It is nice.

Holiday parties

On Labor Day a couple days ago, we went to the Jackson Creek barbecue with music and a petting zoo. It was supposed to go from 11 to 1 o’clock. Some of us were not even done eating and enjoying the music and the petting zoo and We felt very rushed out. They started closing the doors and taking the music and the petting zoo down at 12:30 and we were just enjoying sitting there and they were breaking up the chairs and tents. We felt very rushed out.. I know the workers are very hard workers and I understand it was a holiday however, if the workers are too tired to put a good show and a good barbecue, then they should have a party team come in and visit with people and serve and make it really a fun fulfilled time without making people feel rushed. There needs to be a lot more live music and extended times. People love music and it helps them relax.

Good value with improvements

What we really like about Arbor View Senior Living are the apartment rooms, they are updated and more modern and we like the quick access to the outside areas. Improvements can be with the management and their overall communication, they could have better response times to help resolve any questions or concerns families have. Also the meals - the fruit selection is good but when it comes to the salads they could offer some more fresher greens and different variety of vegetables

My review of Arbor View Senior Living

Our family had an in person tour back in February so things were still pretty restricted, however we were able to go see a couple of rooms. The people were very nice, but the community just felt a little more institutional then others we were looking at. It did not feel as special. To be fair at the time they were going through major renovations, so maybe that has changed.

Management churn and constant chaos

My parents live at Jackson Creek Senior Living (independent living) and there are things they like about it: the activities staff, the other residents, proximity to my family, and the size/layout of their apartment are all strong positives. However, I talk to them daily and it is a constant swirl of mis-management: multiple elevators broken, one for many months, inability to source food for the kitchen due to lack of sign off by upper management (why do multiple upper managers need to sign off on the purchase of ice cream or bananas.... trust your chef more!), chronically understaffed dining servers/kitchen prep, disastrous fire alarm situation several weeks ago highlighting that staff were not trained in fire emergencies. I know that staffing is a challenge at the moment but believe in this case it is more a morale problem due to poor leadership/compensation, causing high rates of turnover.

This community just seemed to be dark to me and my loved one stated that she felt like she would get lost in this community. It just felt like an institution and not a home.

I did not like this community, not the right vibe that we were looking for and there was a lot of construction and it was n older building. We also did not see any clients out and about.
