The place is nice, I like it.

The place is nice, I like it. The concerns were with the response times, when she calls it isn't as quick as we would like. It's been an ongoing issue, and there is always an excuse, something about the pagers, usually. I will say though, that when I bring it to their attention they are right on it, coming up with solutions. 9 out of 10 caregivers are pretty good, but the ratio is only 1 for every 9 residents. The food isn't bad, but I am sure it's better other places, and they don't have green salad, just a lot of other vegetables.

has room for improvements

The people are nice but the management is an issue. Staff constant leaving for other facilities that pay them better and give them more hours. New staff come in and they are not skilled. They don't know how to take care of the elderly. It's so unfortunate. At the moment, I would not recommend this community to others.

Our experience with The Lakes at Banning

My biggest problem with The Lakes is their maintenance and upkeep. often doors auto open/close fail to work, and it is not days, but weeks before repaired. Likewise, when activity director at memory care left, it was months without finding new hire. They absolutely should have had a temporary person on tap. The tv is not a replacement, especially since they tend to hype their facility as exceptional. BUT I do need to say that I appreciated the guidance from the industry, you helped me greatly during trying times

Crescendo Senior Living review

My dad was at Crescendo for less than a year before he passed. The went through 3,directors of memory care before I left. At first, the staff was very nice and attentive, but then they brought in less than great staff. My dad died and I didn't get really any condolences from them. I was going to move him before he died due to the lack of consistency.

Great facilities, but an increase of dedicated staff needed.

he rooms are spacious, and the facility is nice. It is important to have the facility conveniently located so that family can make frequent visits. Getting to know the staff is important to making sure loved ones get the best care. I believe there are staff shortages throughout the industry. Research is important to make sure the facility can and will at least hire help from a staffing registry when needed.

Our families experience

Overall compared to the two other memory care homes I have had my Mom over the last 10 years, Valley Crest is a 3 star for all the above categories. It is disorganized and old but the staff are fabulous and my sister is happy so in the end it is a great place for her based on what she can afford long term. My sister's experience has been stressful for her because they kept moving her from room to room. I understand they are redoing all the rooms but she is brand new there and it made her settling in much harder. I just wish they would have left her in her original room for a longer period of time. The staff were very understanding of her distress and go out of their way to reassure her.

The Residents are Well Taken Care Of

In the memory care area it doesn't seem to be as nice as the assisted living area. It's an okay place for memory care. The staff are very responsive, friendly, and understanding. If there is a concern they are willing to take time to discuss things with me. It does seem they are short staffed, and some staff may seem overwhelmed by all the duties they are doing currently.

My review of The Lakes at Banning

Our family had an in person tour, and the experience was okay. We felt like the memory care section was a little more hospital like. It did not have that homey, warm, and welcoming feeling to it.

$5k-$6100 per month. Same description as Fullerton Gardens. Seems to allow for higher functioning residents. Residential parking. Virtual tour on [date removed]. We liked the facility and could be a second choice. Our tour time cut off so we were not able to discuss mom's level of care. We will check back next week if we think this might be a more viable option.

Valley Crest Memory Care

There were times when the staff didn't take care of my mother's needs when she needed taking care of. There were never any activities available for my mother. They were not accommodating of her situation. The community was not a good value. If I had to do it over again I would not have placed her there.

The feel of the room was more like an apartment. Very cozy and feels like a little neighborhood. We loved the living accommodations. We did not like the common areas. There are only 2 indoor common areas. Found them to be dated and not very well kept. There were lots of cameras but didn't seem like there was a lot of staff that walk around to monitor and help residents. During the tour we were not asked questions about our loved ones likes or personality. Other places seem much more interested in individualized care and finding ways to help integrate him into the environment. This place wasn't bad but seemed great for Alzheimer's patients who are much more independent.

Review of Meridian Gardens of Riverside - Riverside, CA

My father has been at Meridian Gardens, Riverside since [Removed]. Since then, he was bullied by one resident resulting in a hand fracture. On [Removed], I did an unannounced visit to meet my father. I observed an [Removed] [woman] with a large bandage around her left index finger complaining about another resident (male) [Removed]. I saw the same resident walking out of the nursing station and he also has bandages on his hand. My concern is the level of monitoring that goes on at this facility among the staff. These incidents can be avoided with proper supervision and security. I hope this communication can [be] kept [confidentially]. I would hope that someone can spot check this facility from time-to-time.

All Memory Care Now

They were having some issues when my mom was there. They ended up transitioning that facility to memory care. It was assisted living with a separate memory care unit but then they switched it over the entire place being memory care so that's why she had to move. The food quality was not good at all. There were some issues there.

Experience with Valley Crest through COVID

I would tell others that I think our case was different because we moved in right in the middle of the pandemic. He had to be quarantined in the back room and that is what is accounting for the lower scores. He passed away before he was able to go into the facility. I would still recommend based off of what we saw it would be like in normal circumstances.
