My review of The Ivy

What stood out to our family the most in the beginning was how caring the staff members are. The community is clean and well maintained and the activities are starting to come back.

Memory Care
May 26, 2021

In 2019 I inquired about assisted living for my father who needed Portuguese companionship, I took a tour and was impressed with quality of care and attention to every resident. Unfortunately, they didn't have any resident in the assisted living that spoke fluent Portuguese and soon after, Covid was upon us. My father moved in with me. His memory during Covid deteriorated and we needed more help. The Arbors reconnected with me, had me take a tour of their Memory Care Unit. Who had more Portuguese speaking residents in the memory care. [name removed] was very helpful. The patients were engaged and the staff were very attentive to the residents. Taking dad for a tour soon.

Refreshing New Environment

This is a brand new community. There is a exercise classes for the residents currently. They also have other activities for the residents to choose from. They have a grill area for summer time use. The Ivy is allowing visits indoors. If the community has a positive COVID test, then they will move visits outside. I was able to see my loved one, during the 14 day quarantine period during moving in.

The tour and the people were very Nice. I like their philosophy on keeping both staff and residence safe. Another good option, just need the financials. Update: Did an in person tour. The place was clean, people friendly, easy access to everything and lots of safety measures in place. I would move there but unfortunately my parents decided they were not ready to move from their home, even though I think it would be in their best interest.

A great place for mom and dad!

When we first came to visit The Ivy we really liked the facility itself. It is newer and the staff is very friendly. The rooms at this community are spacious and more than adequate. The food is pretty good, our loved one seems to really enjoy it.

Best decision!

Moving Mom and Dad into assisted living at was a difficult decision, but the transithion to The Ivy was anything but difficult. The outstanding staff, nurses, therapists, recreation directors, maintenance staff, and, particulary the receptionists, welcomed them with warmth, compassion, and a wealth of knowledge in the care of all residents, and in our case, the memory care program. The moment you walk in you are greeted by the receptionists with a smile and an enthusiastic hello. From that moment on you just know that you have made the best decision for your loved ones. One of the most impressive things about the staff, and I mean every single one of them, is that they know all of the residents by name and are so sincere in all the their interactions with them. The facility is beautiful, perfectly maintained, and filled with homey touches. In fact, it feels like a home away from home, and you instantly know that you are part of the family as well. The activites, entainment, excercise, social hours, parties, and excursions are well thought out and planned to include all residents and their families. In my mind, there is no better place to have your loved ones. Thanks to everyone at The Ivy for providing an opportunity for the residents to enjoy a high quality of living.

Warm atmosphere with professional, caring and friendly staff. The residence was well kept, full of light with fun decor. Activity director seems to have a full calendar of diversified things to do. The only thing I would share is to ask about their assessment fee up front. We went to four facilities other than The Arbors and none had an assessment fee at all.

The arbors at Dracut

My mother has been at the ARBORS at Dracut for over a year and has been very happy there. She has made a lot of friends and they have many activities for the residents that she enjoys. It has made the transition easier for us and they take care with handling her needs. The employees are extremely helpful and friendly. She now calls it her home and is very at ease and happy. We checked many assisted living units and this is the nicest assisted living apartment we found. All the residents seem happy and as pleased as my mother.

The Arbors at Dracut

The Arbors at Dracut is a beautiful facility. The furnishings and decor make the Arbors feel like a very welcoming place. Every space, including the residents’ apartments, is kept immaculately clean. Most importantly, the staff are friendly and professional. When we were looking for an assisted living facility for my mother when it became apparent that she could no longer be safe living on her own, [name removed], Executive Director, took his time answering our questions without making us feel any pressure to make a decision. He was very knowledgeable about options that were open to us and went out of his way to answer any questions we had. We know that our mom is in good hands at The Arbors at Dracut.

Love it

I love the Arbors at Westfield- the staff is amazing, the surroundings are lovely, and the food is better than most facilities. Every staff person I have come in contact with seems to sincerely love their work and care for the welfare of their residents. It is so much better than where my aunt and uncle had been, I am very grateful I was able to get them in there.

Dad is Happy

My dad is happy here. The staff is wonderful. They communicate frequently with my family with status updates. They know my dad and are attentive to is needs. The nursing staff pays attention to details. The apartment is beautiful and the setup is great. The community is tastefully decorated and kept nice and clean. The food is pretty good. They have 3 meals a day. They have list of daily activities he can join and have frequent special events. They have a pool table and he loves that. He is playing cards with other residents. They have a nice outdoor area and beautiful sunrooms on each level. I would highly recommend this community.

Staff is very accommodating

I love this facility. It’s very positive and it’s a smaller facility. Unfortunately, my Father’s needs exceeds what The Arbor’s offers but, they are doing everything they can to accommodate him. What I really like is that they helped me find a skilled nursing staff to be with him. They coordinated everything for me and we have a plan of action if he furthers in his condition. The staff takes really great care of him. Even all of the residents here looked very well taken care of. They look like they are freshly showered and they have fresh clothes on. No one here looks uncared for. They actually have a nurse that specializes in foot care that comes in and clips toenails and addresses any problems with the residents feet. They bring in a lot of services in house to make the residents happy. I highly recommend this facility. If anyone were to come to me and ask for a place, I would recommend this one anytime.

Outstanding

After a year of declining health I moved my Mom into The Arbors in June and couldn't be more happier. Mom initially didn't want to go, but I asked her to give it 30 days. Everyday since she thanks me for "letting" her come live here. She's busy throughout the day with fun and engaging activities and movie time early evening. I tell my Mom she's living in a 5 Star hotel because it's such a beautiful place and she eats in the restaurant everyday! The food smells SO good and must be delicious since she's gaining much needed weight! Every staff member is is kind caring & considerate of Mom's needs and continually keep me informed on how she's adjusting. I am relieved to know Mom is in s safe place.
