At the moment our loved one does not require much assistance but at times when she does need assistance that staff are right on top of it so that has been very impressing. Our loved one does enjoy the activities - the activities director did get promoted so right now the activities are ran by the residents themselves. The staff are very good to deal with at this community. My father in law really enjoys being at this community. He has no complaints at all. I recommend this community for extended elderly care for sure. The tour was wonderful and we toured several times from out of state and we toured with out my loved one and then also with my loved one to decide on this community. They have this community in different states so someone was able to do his assessment in the state that we were in to transfer him to where he is now.

The tour at Sunrise of Jacksonville was great, and we really liked the place. But they kept changing things, and the price kept going up. To me, they weren’t straight forward with us from the beginning.

My cousins recommended A Place For Mom when I was suddenly dealt with a tough decisions. Living over 3,000 miles away from my mom, I had NO idea where a healthy, trustworthy, living place in my mothers town would not only accept her, but we would be able to afford. A place for mom found me 4 great options! Thank you is not enough!
It's a beautiful facility. Overall my loved one has received good care, and her lead caregiver has been incredible. She's been amazing and always available to answer my questions. The staff in general are always there and always available. They have a chef on staff, and the food looks really delicious. Activities have been a little limited due to Covid, but the exercise activities have been really good for my loved one. They'll come and get her too, which is really sweet. My loved one had an injury and has had some rehab there, which has been excellent. We've also had a trip to the hospital while she's been there, and they were great in how they handled it. They called me right away. Assisted living is high in general, but as far as that goes in this area, they're actually wonderfully affordable, and they're in and out of her room often making sure she's okay. They've also been really helpful with us in navigating long-term care insurance and making sure that's all on time and done right.
The staff is very friendly, approachable, and willing to figure things out with you. They are always courteous and pleasant
From what we have been able to see and from what our loved one has told us, the cleanliness of the community is excellent. There occasionally some oversight that we have to call and check up on, but nothing ever serious. We are very impressed with the assistant director and also the head nurse.
The staff seems to be taking good care of my loved one. My loved one is content. I would recommend this community to others.
One thing that really stood out to us when we were first visiting this community was the way it looked, and its overall appearance. The rooms at Sunrise community are adequate in size.
We moved her in on [date removed] and then they shut down on the [date removed]. My loved one lives on their memory care unit. They do allow virtual visits. When we want to see my loved one through the window we will make an appointment and the staff will bring her down. The staff has been accommodating for us to visit my loved one. There was a little miscommunication with the pharmacy and doctor office. This may be because of the lock down and not sure of the chain of demand. Sunrise was one of the only communities that allow for the loan company to send them to receive a loan payment directly.
We looked at six or seven communities prior to choosing Sunrise and have been very pleased. A smaller community compared to some, the staff is very attentive. They have had no cases of Covid-19 at the community, which says something. They send out a protocol letter every week to let us know what they were doing to protect the residents and the community is still on lock down. The food at the dining rooms is great. I have eaten here several times including for Thanksgiving and Christmas and the food is always good. They have been offering adequate activities, especially since my wife is quite mobile, it doesn't seem that they have engaged her enough in the activities, although that could be because she chooses not to participate. Compared to other communities I have visited, Sunrise is just about in the middle in terms of their pricing. The quality memory care here is definitely a lot higher than some, so I believe it to be a good value.
Director [name removed] is the horrible. She is rude to patients, coworkers and contractors that are onsite. She is by far one of the most unprofessional people I have ever met. They need to hire someone to direct the place that has a WAY better attitude.
It was a very good move to put Mom in Sunrise. They are very good to Mom and work hard to keep Mom happy, healthy & comfortable.

My mother has been a resident at Sunrise for 2 years this month. Moving her to assisted living was a very difficult and emotional decision. The sales director, [name removed], made the process (tour, apartment selection, pricing, etc.) easier. The care managers (those who assist mom daily) are wonderful; all of them. They treat mom like family- seriously. They sit with her when she feels down and cheer her up. They individualize her care by understanding her preference for everything from outfits and hair style, to making sure she gets to the Bistro every afternoon for coffee. They make her laugh, they enjoy her humor, and they make her feel so loved and cared for. The management staff, from the executive director and nurses to the concierge and chef also check on mom, laugh with her, and make sure she is getting the level of care expected from mom and me. Changes in diet, prescriptions, and other specific needs are managed effectively, efficiently, and with genuine care and love. Finally, the facility is beautiful, very clean, and offers a community kitchen that I use often to cook meals for special occasions. This allows us to bring our family together, which always makes mom happy. Sunrise cares and it really has become our extended family.
Beautiful facility. Felt very much like a community. Staff was incredible. [name removed] answered all my questions and was professional and courteous. The 2 bedroom units don’t have any kind of living room or common area in them which was a turnoff.
My mother was at sunrise and I loved the care she received. We have now placed a good friend there and we couldn’t be happier. Staff is kind and professional. I feel you should check sunrise out.
This is a very nice community and the staff did a great job showing me around and taking their time with me. Everything is open and bright and they even have a resident dog who was a rescue dog that lives there. I liked the pleasant atmosphere everything was clean but I knew that the rooms were going to be too small for my dad. I would definitely recommend coming here for a tour.
I had a nice tour of this community. Everyone was very kind to my family, and I. The community looked good from what we saw. Everything was well-kept. The staff was friendly, and informative. All our questions were answered. The inexpressive went well overall.
