With regard to The Mann House, my brother and I have been extremely pleased with our experience having our mother in their care. The high points for us have been the demeanor of the staff, the small size of the community, and their communication. My mother has unfortunately declined at a very rapid rate over her time there and almost never leaves the facility other than for scheduled doctor appointments and numerous trips to the hospital. She is unable to follow instructions and participate in many activities, but she enjoys her meals and sits outside in the courtyard frequently. She has rapidly worsening dementia and can be difficult to deal with, but the staff is tremendously patient with her. Sam, the director, is very easy to communicate with, and everyone else knows my mother well and goes out of their way to chat with her. She has had to go to a rehab facility repeatedly after several falls (not the fault of the staff) and each time we have been extremely relieved to have her return to The Mann House afterward. She is currently in the hospital where she had a pacemaker implanted two days ago and is very frail. We were very concerned that she would have to spend time in rehab again, but Sam has given the thumbs up for her to return directly to The Mann House. We cannot imagine what the situation would be for her if she was in a much larger community where there might be greater staff turnover and less staff knowledge with individual residents. For a senior that is highly functioning mentally and physically, it might not be the greatest choice for activities and social engagement among residents, but given my mom's state, it has worked out very well for her to live there.... We toured The Mann House Cumming and Johns Creek when searching for Memory Care for our loved one. Our tour was excellent! The cleanliness and friendliness were great!

There were no real activities other than putting them in front of the TV with a milkshake. The food was horrible. Kitchen is not available for any alternative meals, staff was rude and not enough of them. Buzzers going off for an hour before someone would check, I actually checked on a patient while I was there. I could go on and on. If we would have had any other choice available, we would have gone there and not here.

My loved one was there a short period of time. The food looked really good. It is super expensive. They need to offer some additional things. We picked this community, because it was very nice, clean, and did not look like a nursing home. The Director was super nice. I would recommend to other families.

My dad had a very good experience, unfortunately he passed away a few months ago. We would absolutely recommend this community to other families based on the experience we had.

What we really like about The Mann House is the staff, they are very nice and caring and the location is very convenient for our family when we want to visit. We also got to speak with some residents and some of their family and they all seemed really happy with this community which helped make our decision. Based on our experience we would recommend this community to other families.

Overall it has been a good experience for the family and our loved one. The staff communication has been great with the family, and they are responsive to our questions and concerns. The community has been able to provide medication management, bathing and dressing assistance for our loved one when needed.

Our dad is new to The Mann House but even during crazy post covid times, we feel that he has been received into excellent care. He is a unique case and [name removed], [name removed], [name removed]and the rest of the staff has been very cooperative with designing his care plan. The Mann House is very clean and the food is the best I have ever seen and tasted in a facility. We look forward to our dad and family enjoying many years to come at Mann House.

When we took our tour the director was brand new. It is a very nice facility, but I felt like they were selling me on the facility itself and not the quality of care that they provided. It could have been because they were so new, but the cohesiveness of the staff just did not seem to click.

A Place for Mom has scored Mann House Cumming 8.9 out of 10 using our proprietary review score.
We assign review scores to give a more reliable view into senior living communities and home care agencies. Our review scores prioritize reviews that are recent — the past 24 months — because we know families need current information when choosing senior care.
Those with many recent, positive reviews receive a high review score, while providers with few recent reviews — regardless of how positive — receive a lower review score. Communities with no recent reviews will not have a review score, even if older reviews are positive. The maximum A Place for Mom review score a community can receive is 10 points.
