Assisted living facilities have the luxury of regular social events and apartment style housing as well as individualized support. Assisted living facilities frequently offer chances for organized activity, assistance with transit and appointments, and help with the activities of daily life. Under certain circumstances, facilities may offer dementia care, respite, or "aging in place". The state of Oregon has a number of provisions related to this type of facility. Oregon Department of Human Services, Office of Licensing and Regulatory Oversight certifies this facility type. This type of facility is required to offer a number of services. This facility has a number of provisions concerning food and diet which include all food must be in accordance with the Department of Agriculture food pyramid and must provide three meals a day. Public assistance is available through Medicaid Aged and Disabled 1915(c) Waiver program.There must be one toilet for every 1 residents and one bath or shower for every 1 residents. The maximum occupancy is 1 residents per room. The minimum number of residents for this facility type is 6.
