Before a resident is accepted, they must go through a service plan screening to make sure their needs are going to be met. This screening includes a number of areas of interest such as cognitive status review, health history, psychical history, and functional status assessment. Staff must receive education in a variety of subjects. These include: job responsibilities, residents rights, community procedures, and securing emergency assistance. Public assistance is available through 1915(c) Assisted Living Program and the 1915(b)(c) Managed Care Demonstration Waiver called MyCare. This type of community is required to offer a number of services. These include personal care, assistance with self-administration of medication, activities, and medication administration.
