Had to relocate to another state

We had to move my parents to another state and it is the best thing we did. My parents are being well taken care of and doing great. The staff is friendly and helpful. They are socializing and doing activities. The food seems to be good no complaints. It is a much better option than before now I know I can have the piece of mind they are in a more secure environment and that gives me the piece of mind.... Read more

About the community The Campus of Anna Maria

The humble beginnings of The Campus of Anna Maria of Aurora began over 57 years ago when Bob and Loretta Norton had a vision – assisting their family members as they aged. Wanting his mother and aunt living closer, Bob purchased an available house and land at 889 North Aurora Road. A small nursing home was established, and as they say, the rest is history. Now 2nd and 3rd generations own and operate this 5-Star skilled nursing facility.

Over the years, the Norton family has lovingly developed the campus into a continuum care residential community, with the different levels of care all under one roof: Independent Living, Assisted Living, Memory Care, Short Term Rehabilitation, and Skilled Nursing.

The Independent and Assisted Living apartments (known as Norwood) are licensed for assisted living, meaning if an independent resident’s needs change, a move to a different apartment is not necessary. He or she can remain in that same apartment and receive assisted living services. Couples can remain together even if the needs of one change.

The Campus of Anna Maria of Aurora is family-owned, not part of any large chain...

Anna Maria Is Consistent

My loved one was in the rehab and memory care units. I would tell people that this community is very professional. They are geared towards the resident. This is a huge campus, and organization. In order to get to the memory unit is located in the back of the community and not easily accessible. This isn't as new as some other communities. My loved one only had a toilet and sink, and not a full bathroom. There are a lot of roommate situations in the memory care unit. The residents could sit in recliners if the they weren't in their rooms.

A Nice Community

They were not a non-profit community. We were planning for the future and did not want to move my loved one again when the funds ran out. The community is a very nice place and I liked it a lot when I had the tour.
