What our family likes the most about the Golden Horizons of Crosslake is the Efficiency through follow up care and concern. Based on the experience we have had so far, we would very much so recommend this community to other families.

My family and loved one had a great experience with the community. The staff and residents are friendly. The community is clean. The staff was willing to get to know the residents and do special things for them on an individual basis. We would recommend the community to others for their loved ones. What I was happiest about was that both my parents were able to stay with them through the dying process with extra help coming in instead of being moved to another care facility as their health declined!

The community was great and made Mom's transition easier. I don't have any complaints. The staff communication has been good. My mom says she likes the food.

We love the staff. It's a small community, and the staff is just fantastic. Most of them have worked there for more than five years. There's very little turnover. They like their jobs, and they're just very caring. My dad absolutely loves the staff. They are doing a great job with his Celiac disease. The facility itself is one of the best I've seen. It's very clean, and the common areas are really nice and inviting. And my dad loves to spend most of his day down there doing activities or just chatting with people.

Overall we have been very pleased with the staff and their care services. We do not have first hand experience with the meals and dining service, but we feel what is being served is appropriate. It may not be as many home cooked meals as we would like but overall they food looks good. The activities are still somewhat limited. We do think the value for cost is good and we would absolutely recommend the Golden Horizon's community to other families

I would highly recommend it. Things have been going really well. The staff have been really great. In comparison to the previous place my loved one was at, I like that Golden Horizons has a more homey environment and is less clinical. Yet she's still getting really good care, and her needs are being met. The environment just feels less institutional. The décor and furniture is up-to-date. It's a pretty and pleasing place to be in, always smells clean, and the energy feels calm.

nice to see all the activities open up with the covid restrictions lifted. music is always fun. unlimited supply of games. monthly crafts. the workers all get along and it is nice to see the way they all pitch in and help each other out.

We chose this Golden Horizons because of the availability and the location. The room sizes were very nice and spacious. All the staff I met were great, very friendly and helpful and always remembered me. We had a really good experience in the short time she was here and would recommend.

The staff were very friendly but there were not a lot of activities. Personal essential supplies were not included in the price. The staff were very accommodating and motivating to my mom. They actually were able to get her mobile and walking again. The food was fantastic and they were able to get my mom to eat three meals a day which she wasn't doing before. The only thing is the room was very clean when she moved in but when we moved out the room smelled of urine.

Golden Horizons of Aitkins is a very clean and well-maintained community. We chose Golden Horizons because my uncle had stayed here previously, so we knew how caring and friendly the place is run. We are still very impressed with their quality of care. They do a yearly retraining for the staff members. They definitely go above and beyond to make the residents feel comfortable. I am very impressed with the food they serve. They offer a variety of well-balanced meals. They freshly bake their own bread on-site for every meal. There are plenty of activities for the residents. The staff encourages the residents to participate, although my Mom is not crazy about all of the activities, she does engage in some of them. Mom is able to get plenty of exercises and it is nicely decorated with flowers to enjoy.

I couldn't be any more pleased with this community, and all they have done for us. Everything is working out very well, and my mother is doing great since her move here. This is the best community for her, and her needs. They are taking very good care of her. A place for mom was great with all the help they provided us with. This is a lovely community, and all is well for us here.

Excellent facility. This was a very difficult move for my siblings and me to make with Mom. At 91 she was still very active and living in her own home. A tragic incident where she was struck by a car set her back. That, along with failing eyesite, forced us to have to find a safe home option. She is slowly coming to accept that the move was necessary. The staff at Park Lane have been wonderful to Mom and go out of their way to make her feel welcome and at home.

We could not be happier that we found this place. Mom has fallen in love with it. She has all her friends that she sold clothes to there with her. She really enjoys the meals and mingling with her friends. Mom is more vibrant and lively since she has been here. We picked here because it was in the same neighborhood where we have always lived and it helped to keep things familiar.

Mom seems to be settling in at Golden Horizons of Crosslake. The administrator was very friendly but we had some disconnect regarding where exactly the money for the holding fee was going to go, my suggestion is to get everything promised or otherwise in writing. I also think it would be helpful for new residents to have an advocate or ambassador assigned to them in their new environment to know what is available to them. We like the fact that they make sure she gets her medication and there are three meals a day provided for her. The staff is friendly but not providing the personalized customer care service without being told how to make the residents more comfortable. Such as asking for the light bulbs to be replaced, or help placing or giving the towel to the resident so that it does not get wet or dropped. Generally, the food is okay, except on the weekends they seem to serve mostly sandwiches. My mom's room has a view of a wooded setting where she can enjoy deer and squirrel activity. They have a nice porch area and sidewalks to walk around to enjoy the outdoors.

The staff at this community were nice and helpful during dad's stay. They did try to accommodate his dietary needs. The community is clean and well maintained. They offer some daily activities, outings and get togethers. I would recommend this community.

Our loved one needed help with the day to day tasks. She just couldn't keep up with the house work, and her health was starting to decline. We talked to her about staying somewhere local and close to the hospital. She didn't want to go to the nursing home. It would have been hard on her, mentally, if she did. We decided on an assisted living. This one worked for us because it was so close, and I'm so glade she loves it there. They are very friendly and kind. They just understand what she needs.

I would recommend the facility with some caveats. The caregivers vary somewhat in their cheerfulness/niceness, but most were pretty good. The housekeeping seemed quite good. We didn't have to move our dad in ourselves since he was brought over from the hospital. Moving the furniture in was no big deal. Communication was okay - somewhat spotty at times. I was not impressed with the quality of the meals, not very balanced between protein, vegetables, and starches. Also very inconsistent from day to day. I guess my main suggestion would be to get a better dietitian.

The reason we gave the care services a 3 out of 5 is because they are short staffed all of the time. They just need more qualified help. Aides need more training. Most were polite and nice, just poorly trained and inexperienced

It seems we have to stay right on top of things. No initiative is made by employees. Phone calls regarding stuff they should take care of for over $5000 a month. We get a call, run there and it is not a valid need. For example: Your mom needs cat food and litter and the litter box is broken. We get there and the litter box is fine, she had 10# of food and 15# of litter. Overall we are happy though. There are a lot of activities including exercises etc.
