Our Experience
My loved one was previously a resident at The Ashford on Broad. Staffing was very limited, therefore causing a great deal of the issues we experienced. The building maintenance was not good. They did not have an activities person for a long time. All in all, it wasn't what I had hoped it would be.

We picked this community because, of the location and it was all inclusive. Things have definitely gotten better, and seems improve. They can do better with cleaning the room. Most of the staff is friendly. My loved one has been happy with the food. Overall, they seem to be okay. I would recommend to other families. They have been receptive any issues that we have had.

FRUSTRATED!
Right now, if I could move my parent out I would!
It used to be a nice place, but has gone downhill just within a year. There is high turnover with Mgmt and staff. My parent has lived there [time frame removed] & I don't think they have ever been properly staffed to give the care that you are paying for. For as much as I have to do when I get there each day I should be on the pay roll!! They provide laundry services, but I do the laundry because that is what my parent likes. The thing is, I need to do laundry EVERY day because she has soiled herself and I know she has had to sit in it for a while because it soaked through her Depends through to whatever she was sitting on at the time. There used to be activities all the time, now I don't think they have a Activities Director. If they do, they don't much!
I have been very patient with this place, but I am getting to my limit!
I think they should replace Mgmt with experienced, compassionate and knowledgeable people then do they same w/staff!

Initial Impressions of the Ashford
I think there were some initial communication steps we had to get worked out. Some things didn't get done initially. And I think they have some short-staffing issues, especially on weekends,. But I think they're trying, and they're being responsive to my concerns. It's just something you have to pay attention to as the resident or families of residents. Cost is comparable to other places we looked at.

My review of The Ashford on Broad
The lobby is very clean but due to the covid restrictions nobody can get passed the lobby. We are not happy with the care, we were told our loved one could live in assisted living with level 2 nursing care, and after the spiked the rates up very high we asked exactly what the level 2 care was, and it was just to assist her with her daily medicine. Since covid they have to eat in their rooms a lot of the time since the dining hall is shut down, and a lot of the time the food was served cold. they do have small activities, but due to our loved ones health state she was more comfortable not participating in them, however they never encouraged her to join in or even bring anything up to her room. We are just not happy with the place.

As far as I am concerned, it is the best assisted living
We chose The Ashford because it was recommended to us, we did get to tour it and for what you get in terms of cost, they were heads above the rest. The room sizes here are very large, spacious, and open. They have a lot of natural light and a lot of them have balconies. I have eaten here myself and the food is excellent. They have a dining room with leather bound menus and a chef and nutritionist on site. They have a great selection and can accommodate people if they don't like what is on the menu. The staff members here went above and beyond for our family, I would and have recommended them.

So far so good
Some activities The Ashford community had before COVID were movie nights and bible studies. The affordability and central location really stood out to us, and the overall look of the community is nice. The Ashford is pretty spacious with an open concept and a lot of natural light. The provide a lot of different floor plans which we thought was nice. Our loved one did not really care for the food, but we were able to eat there a couple times and we thought overall it was pretty good.
