I could see the staff"s genuine compassion for the residents. I thought the facility was overall clean and the activities engaging for the residents. The one issue I have is that Solano Life House feels like a dreaded facility. There is nothing warm about the decor, except when the fire is on the TV. Everything is sterile as in plain and feels more business than homey. I also never understood why the Residents who are non-ambulatory were always made to stay in their wheelchairs. There were many comfy chairs along the wall that often remained empty sans those who can sit there on their own. I know I instructed the staff, per the doctor and hospice nurse, to have my mother sit with her legs raised for a few hours during the day do to circulation issues and a fractured back. However, this only occurred a few times throughout her stay.

Perfect place for my Aunt
We moved my Aunt here from a more expensive facility 1 and 1/2 years ago. The Administrator has been excellent since day one. She gave me the tour, answered my questions and took my calls in the days after. She visited my Aunt at the other facility to get her comfortable with the idea of moving there. Administrator fixes issues quickly. My Aunt's first roommate was not a compatible fit. Administrator found the ideal replacement. Maintenance was extremely helpful in the entire moving in process (set up her hospital bed, helped me move in items, and installed a tv mount for her). The facility is kept very clean on a daily basis. Activities staff is very efficient. They cut her hair and do her nails, which she really enjoys. Caregivers are always friendly. One caregiver has become like a best friend to her & treats her like she was part of her family, which is invaluable. Our family is so pleased that we moved her here, the cost is less. The care & attention is so much better. Thank you!

Solano Life House employees are like family. I spend several days a week at SLH visiting my love ones and therefore I interact with all employees that care for my love ones. I'm very happy with all the staff. I'm greeted by Activities staff when I enter, care staff will give me an update on how my love one are doing. I usually ask MED-TECHNICIAN if there are any changes with my love ones and any time I needed help from house keeping they have always assisted me. It's important to me to be proactive with my parents care and SLH gives me peace that they're in good hands.

Recently moved my Mom to Solano Life House from [name removed]. [name removed] was nice but very expensive. Solano is a god-send with a better price point for caring for my mom. My experience here at Solano Life House
During my 6 month stay, I received services that is exceptionally above and beyond just meeting residents demands. The cleanliness work is impeccable. The furniture, fixtures, floor and wheelchairs are always sanitized. The staff are heartwarming and friendly, competent to meet and attentive to meet residents needs. Activities are fun, challenging, and grouped according to participants level of interest. Meals are adequately prepared to other peoples diet requirements. Among all of the staff, they always come together and work as a team.

Kind, compassionate care
I can't say enough about the excellent quality of care my mother received at Solano Life House. Even though mom was only there for a short time I greatly appreciated the compassion and dignity shown, not just to the residents, but to the families as well. The administrator was responsive and patient with my numerous questions, and put me at ease. The entire staff, from the ownership down, work really hard to create a comfortable, clean, and safe environment, with good home-cooked, food, a bright and spacious common area, and daily activities. They also provided seamless coordination with hospice. The fee structure is very reasonable. Solano Life House is a model of how memory care facilities are run. It's a hard decision to place a loved one in memory care but the staff at Solano LIfe House made it easier.

Excellent Care & Good Communication With Family
We found Solano Lifehouse at just the right time! They were centrally located between me and my brother, making it easy for us to visit . The staff were very kind to my father. He required memory care. However, he was also ambulatory and very active so the staff found ways to keep him busy. They took him on walks and allowed him to "help" around the facility when possible. They constantly kept in touch with me regarding his health care needs, medication, behavior changes, and general well-being. Everyone was warm, caring, and friendly. I received regular calls and text messages whenever necessary; and someone was always available when i needed to contact them. Furthermore, this facility was reasonably-priced--it fit perfectly into our limited budget. My father has passed away as of this writing, but I still have fond memories of my family's relationship with Solano LifeHouse. I've been recommending them to everyone I know.

Review of Solano Life House
Both my parents are residents of Solano Life House. My parents are Spanish-speaking, so when I was looking for a care facility, it was a must that they had Spanish-speaking staff. Solano Life House has Spanish-speaking staff on every shift and I can feel better knowing they can communicate their needs. All staff at Solano Life House have been so nice and I see how well they take care of my parents, they truly care for them and their needs.

A great place for seniors
My mom is a resident at Solano Life House and is very happy there. She has moderate dementia and has complicated needs but the staff has been able to handle everything really well. They're knowledgeable, personable, caring and attuned to the needs of seniors with memory loss. They do lots of activities and excursions (which my mom loves) and keep the residents active and well-provided for. This is also a uniquely affordable facility and I highly recommend that you schedule a tour and find out for yourself!

Friendly staff
Friendly staff give a comfortable feel to the place. Easy to visit the home. Pricing is good compared to larger homes. Staff turnover seems frequent though, which is unfortunate. Some landscaping improvements have been made. Sometimes there is art hanging on the walls, it would be nice to have that be consistent to liven up the color and character of the interio

A welcome reprieve
My mom needed a temporary place. Solano Life House was the perfect choice. She was well cared for, and was able to stay in her community. Friends and family could easily visit. We didn't worry, as we knew she would be safe and well cared for. The staff was always friendly and accommodating. I am glad that Solano Life House took excellent care for my father in the past, and is now a great option for my mom. She has made several friends there.

The right choice for my Father
We had the difficult decision to place my father in an assisted living facility last year. We selected Solano Lifehouse after visiting over 10 facilities within a 20 mile radius. [name removed], manager of Solano Lifehouse was the only one that truly gave me a good vibe. I could tell that she was invested in her career path and found her purpose of caring for others. We needed to improve my Father's standard of living and safety. The assistance my father receives has benefit him in many ways - most importantly health & safety. We no longer have to worry about constant stressful events happening to my father in the home. Solano Lifehouse is well maintained and clean, which was another big factor if our decision. The staff are friendly and the staff-patient ration is adequate. It feels like a home, which is important to us. My father goes on outings and daily walks which has improved his quality of life. We are very thankful to Solano Lifehouse for caring for our father.

So glad we found Solano Life House for my mom
My mom is a resident and has been here for over a year. We love the staff!! Everyone is caring and and treats mom like family. The facility isn't fancy but it is clean and roomy. The main room is very large and has a tv, sofa and chairs. The other part of the room has mostly tables and chairs for eating their meals and doing activities. The meals are well balanced and they are good size portions. There are two residents in each bedroom. Mom has never shared a room but she doesn't have an issue with sharing. There are two twin beds, two night stands. There is plenty of space for mom's belongings. There is plenty of closet space for hanging clothes and floor space for shoes and bags and a shelf for other items. There is also a cabinet and drawers across from the closet for clothes, personal items and more. The night stands have two drawers. There is a curtain from the ceiing to the floor that can be closed for privacy. The bathroom is large with a walk in shower.

A Place for Mom has scored Solano Life House 9.9 out of 10 using our proprietary review score.

We assign review scores to give a more reliable view into senior living communities and home care agencies. Our review scores prioritize reviews that are recent — the past 24 months — because we know families need current information when choosing senior care.

Those with many recent, positive reviews receive a high review score, while providers with few recent reviews — regardless of how positive — receive a lower review score. Communities with no recent reviews will not have a review score, even if older reviews are positive. The maximum A Place for Mom review score a community can receive is 10 points.
