An Independent Living Community allows residents the chance to live their active lives while making sure their basic needs are met. Occupants may live their lives as they wish while their food is cooked by a professionall chef, housekeeping and laundry duties are handled by staff, and recreational activities are organized and scheduled. Typically consisting of a private living area and a full kitchen, these communities offer residences with many of the amenities of apartment life but with none of the hassle. Guests can be invited over and entertained, and there will be more time to spend with them with the basic maintenance of daily chores out of the way. While policies vary between locations, numerous residences allow pets as well.
