This community is always very clean and very well taken care our - they did have an covid outbreak at one point but they handled that situation very well. They are starting to bring back activities on a smaller scale and overall the staff are very friendly and good to work with. We will say the communication with the administrative team, the orientation process as well as the meals those could be improved.

What we really like about this community is the staff, they are very friendly and activities look like they would be good. However our family member is not one to go out and participate and there does not seem to be any encouragement there. Also communication with nursing staff could be better including the follow through. There was a huge bill the second month and while they said it would be more it was double, there was really no warning for that. That definitely could be improved .

Our family had an in person tour and it was a good overall tour experience but location was very important to us so ultimately this community was not going to be suitable for our loved one.
This community has just been wonderful. I have already recommended this community to two family friends. It was a great transition for my mom and the staff are friendly and clean it has just been wonderful for my loved one. The director are great. They have activities like bingo, bridge, outings to go eat and more for the residents to do and stay busy and active. They also frequently test for covid to stay safe in the community.

They're' always open to hearing what you have to say and what needs to be changed for your loved one - their likes and dislikes. They seem to remember the things that are important to my mom. They're just super friendly, and they take the time to get to know her. I haven't encountered anything they've said that doesn't happen. It's a nice, pleasant, comfortable environment. They seem to have a nice variety of activities. It's kind pf pricey, but still a good value And my mom is happy there, which speaks volumes to us.

Things were great at first but it went downhill right when she got here. The people were super nice and positive and promised a lot of great things but they were not carried through with. We came to visit a few times and there were barely any staff there. I was told by someone they only had 2 people staffing the whole place and there are 24 residents there. They forgot to get her for a couple of meals. We had to end up taking her down to eat and we sat there for 20 minutes and she still had not gotten her food. We could not trust them even when we were there, so we definitely could not trust them when we were not there. I do not think the memory care portion of the facility is set up very well, it seemed to be an after thought. The apartments and the facility are beautiful, but it was not sustainable. We decided it was not going to work and pulled her out.

Response from Brookdale Foundation House
April 5, 2022We are sorry to hear we did not meet your expectations and we appreciate you taking the time to share your feedback. The health and well-being of our residents is our top priority and we have shared your concerns with our management team for review.
It is so important to know that my parents are being cared for by a well trained nursing staff with an RN on the premises. Thank you for making their transition to assisted living as easy as it could be. Six months later, we are still pleased with the decision to move them into Brookdale Foundation House .

This is an older community and I didn't care for the memory care. The rooms were dark and had low ceilings.
The staff was great and they were very inviting. Had more of a nursing home feeling than independent living.

March 14, 2022Thank you for taking the time to visit and provide us with your feedback.
This community looks like a cruise ship but was not the right feeling that I was looking for. The people did not seem connected at all. A lot of staff walked by and did not say anything at all. Customer service seemed to be lacking but the residents were awesome, engaged and very friendly. The community could use a remodel. Very dark and could use more natural light for the residents.

This community was great and it was a virtual tour due to the pandemic.
This community was great but we went with another one due to the distance.
We chose Brookdale Foundation House because the rooms were pretty big and the location is not on a main street so it is nice and quiet and surrounded by trees. We have not seen any administrative staff since we have moved my mom in here. They were very involved in the beginning. activities very limited due to covid but they are trying to open things back up as we are allowed. I think once there is more to do, it will be perfect fit for my mom. I would recommend to others looking.

Our loved one is in an independent village, and the house keeping comes once a week. Everything is well maintained, everyone we have spoke with over the phone has been very friendly. The activities are still limited but they are tying to bring them back. Even during the pandemic they put in effort to keep the activities going, like playing bingo.

Everyone is very friendly and happy and smiling. Once they get activities going and Covid is over, I think it’s going to be very good. It's definitely been a struggle, but they've been really responsive to me. They clean the independent cottages once a week. They're good people, our only problem was with a resident ambassador who is kind of doom and gloom. But the facility did address the issue for us. The food looks pretty good, but my loved one says it’s too salty, and pretty heavy (not enough fresh options). We’re concerned that the ice cream contains aspartame. But they do have low-sodium, low-fat menu options (not sure my loved one remembers that, with memory issues. . .) Before Covid they used to take weekly trips to the store, drop people off at church, etc. Now she's just renting a place, having it cleaned and getting food. They did give us a considerable discount for the first year. Basically we’re just trying to wait it out until things get better after Covid.

I was very impressed With BrookDale Foundation House. The staff were very friendly and [name removed] the sales manager was very nice and answered all my questions. I ate lunch and the food was very good. The rooms were a good size and I liked the lay out. When I first walked in, I felt like i was walking into a lobby of a nice hotel. I will probably set up a lunch with my dad this week. The only draw back is, i don't know if i can say this right, but its not necessarily cozy or home like. I will bring my dad and see what he thinks

We are enjoying our tidy cottage. It is well maintained and feels like home. the dining experience is worthy, and it offers an excellent time to meet with friends and acquaintances. Our family has joined us here for meals and brunches often. And, best of all is the opportunity to enjoy outside activities. The luncheon dates, museum tours, jazz concerts and theater opportunities are great. Most of all, I appreciate the constant willingness of the management to listen to needs and suggestions.
