Independent Living

Many seniors may be able to live without assistance, but cost of owning a home and the maintenance of daily tasks and chores might deter them from an independent lifestyle. Independent Living Communities offer a great solution. Basic tasks such as meal preparation and housekeeping are handled by staff and a calendar of recreational and leisure activities is provided, allowing residents an opportunity to use their time as they wish, free from daily responsibilities. Along with their daily needs being met, residents can enjoy the opportunity to be among peers, in a community with others of similar age groups and backgrounds. Within the individual units, residents have access to their own private living space and a full kitchen, and can even live with a companion if they choose. While policies differ between locations, a number of residences allow cats and dogs as well. Nursing and health care services can always be arranged for with independent care providers as desired. There are an assortment of expenditures and advantages to balance when deciding on an independent living community. It is important to figure out if these amenities are covered in the care plan: meals, wellness program, initial assessment fee, parking, field trips, utilities, laundry, and housekeeping. The amenities that pertain to independent living include golf course, laundry service, community activities, beauty salon & barber shop, transportation, game/TV room, private rental hall, and concierge services.
