Had to find a place for my husband with advanced Alzheimer's in a hurry. There were no facilities closer to our home very little choice. Few provide secure memory care options. I feel we were fortunate there was an opening at Pine Rock. I have been comfortable with the care provided to him thus far. Staff has been respectful, kind and loving and smiling just about all the time. He can be difficult to handle. Main reason I couldn't keep him or possibly myself safe at home after almost eight years of caring for him alone. Outside caregiver companies wouldn't come to our rural area especially if he could be difficult to work with at times so was left to do all care and no respite alone. He doesn't know me but I know he's safe and being cared for as best as possible. One can't ask much more than that. Our loved one had a short stay at Pine Rock Manor, but it really was a beautiful place. The staff members were fantastic and very supportive - it was a very difficult transition for our loved one.
The community looked very homey, and seemed very clean. I would recommend you check the community out for your loved one. I felt very comfortable with my loved one being in the community. The staff was very friendly and helpful when I spoke to them.

I was not super crazy about Pine Rock Manor. The facility was older and outdated, definitely needed some updates done to it. The overall atmosphere just felt dark and depressing.
So far so good and they seem to be taking good care of my loved one. It would be a place worth checking out. I have not seen many of the activities

After visiting a patient 3 times ,by appointment I am still disappointed in this place. We have never seen anything beyond the visiting room ,which is very dirty.I understand the Covid restrictions but things are far too secretive for me.We asked if we could visit in the courtyard, the reply from staff member was “ I don’t know how I can get you there ! Really, does she not know where it is or is it not accessible by the patients,my sister is mobile and could walk there. What is the harm in visiting in her room ? Or the activities area ?

This community took such great care of my mom, the staff was incredibly friendly and the care services were fantastic. The value of this community was great, she absolutely loved this community she was so happy. The thing that swept us away was the absolute homey feeling this community gave, we received that feeling when we took the tour and when we moved her in. The communication was great, we could not of asked for anything better.

Pinerock has been the place that could finally handle my very, very sweet and occasionally very, very violent husband. They have made it possible for me to begin to have a life again, without worrying about him. The staff is very personal and caring with him, and he clearly loves them. As one aide said today, "[name removed] (my husband's name) is my friend." Pinerock is truly a great place for those who have horrible dementia, and for the peace of mind of their families.

I had the opportunity to go and visit Pine Rock and was very impressed. I was a little hesitate after reading some of the comments on this site but I'm glad I took the time to go and see for myself. The staff was extremely welcoming and knowledgeable. I witness, during my tour, the staff hugging and caring for residents. Staff were always present, walking around, talking to the residents unlike some of the other places I had visited and, no staff were to be found. The community relations director for Pine Rock was very sweet and, she answered all questions and, between her and the tour, we were at Pine Rock for over 2 hours. I was surprised that she and the staff took all that time to be with us. Sadly, my father went into hospice and our next move to a assisted living didn't happen but had it, Pine Rock Manor would have been my choice. Bravo Pine Rock Manor

I chose Pine Rock Manor for my husband as I could not take care of him at home, he was in a wheel chair after a fall and never regained his strength in rehab, as I result I was forced to select a place where he would be taken care of in a great manor. Their staff is the best with patient care that I have ever seen, this is not my first experience with care as he had to have care for my father about 15 years ago. There the staff was never friendly with the patients or their families. At Pine Rock Manor I found it just the opposite, very caring and friendly always asking if there was anything you as a visitor needed as well as taking care of their patients. I remember on seeing a man walking around the rooms and telling her about the patient in that room, showing her their names, their birth dates where they were born and where they lived, as well as their work before retirement and what their interests were so that as she later got to know them she would know something about them. Really makes for a friendly community for those living their. They kept a very clean place as well as provided excellent meals, medications were give as each patient required. They kept their patients involved in a variety of activities. If I ever need such a place hopefully my children will remember how much we liked the attention and care my husband and their father received.

Great location. Cute town. Unfortunately it was dark, narrow halls & doorways. Windows were small for natural lighting. Some bedrooms had no windows. Woodwork gouged from wheelchairs scrubbing doorways to bedrooms. 4 - 6 inch thresholds into bedrooms. The smell of urine was through assisted living and memory care areas.

Started out wonderfully for my mom with lots of promises for activities and personal attention. Stayed for a year or so. Could never reach my mom's doctor. Open bedsores lasted for months, staffing shortages were frequent, and ended with assaults by another resident whom the staff said they could not control.

I love the fact that business tries and keep the older buildings in the area and they find new ways to use them but sometimes using it for care for the seniors may not be the best option. This particular location just looked older and worn and dated. The staff was fine very friendly and informative. One thing I didn't care for is that they separated the care so they had individual areas for different care level needs

My father has advanced dementia and the staff here in the memory care unit are so good with him, they make sure that his food is done correctly, his room is kept clean and that his daily care is well taken care of for him. I would definitely recommend this community.

My mother is still adjusting to this community, but everything is going as well as can be expected. I'am pleased with all they have done for us. We know she is safe and in good hands here. They are providing her with great care. The staff is very alert, they always know what is going on and where everybody is at. Everybody has been kind and friendly. Overall this is a community I would recommend.

Very friendly and helpful staff. It's nice to see my parents and the other residents smiling and laughing enjoying the activities. Pine Rock Manor is located in a beautiful country setting. I especially like the secure courtyard where residents can enjoy the outdoors.

A Place for Mom has scored Pine Rock Manor 9 out of 10 using our proprietary review score.
We assign review scores to give a more reliable view into senior living communities and home care agencies. Our review scores prioritize reviews that are recent — the past 24 months — because we know families need current information when choosing senior care.
Those with many recent, positive reviews receive a high review score, while providers with few recent reviews — regardless of how positive — receive a lower review score. Communities with no recent reviews will not have a review score, even if older reviews are positive. The maximum A Place for Mom review score a community can receive is 10 points.
