Independent Living

Independent Living Communities provide individuals with a nice equilibrium between an opportunity to live an independent lifestyle and not having to concern themselves with chores. Daily needs such as meal planning and housekeeping are taken care of, which provides occupants more free time to live their lives as they see fit. Along with their daily needs being met, residents can enjoy an opportunity to live among peers, in a community with others of similar age groups and backgrounds. Typically comprised of a private living space and a full kitchen, these communities offer residences with many of the amenities of apartment life but with none of the hassle. Guests can be invited over and entertained, and there will be more time to spend with them with the basic maintenance of daily chores out of the way. While policies differ between locations, a number of residences allow pets as well. If medical or nursing support is desired, residents may always enlist the services of private care providers. There are a variety of expenses and benefits to consider while deciding on an independent living community. It is important to figure out if these amenities are covered in your plan: parking, internet access, initial assessment fee, utilities, Waiting list deposit, cable TV, meals, and transportation. The conveniences that pertain to independent living include fitness center & swimming pool, game/TV room, concierge services, golf course, healthcare center, transportation, laundry service, and community activities.
