Independent Living

For many seniors, cost of owning a home and the upkeep of daily tasks and chores might be a deterrent to living an independent lifestyle. Independent Living Communities provide a convenient alternative. Daily needs such as the scheduling of social activities and housekeeping are taken care of, which permits seniors more opportunities to live active lives as they desire. Along with their daily needs being met, residents can enjoy an opportunity to live among peers, in a community with others of similar age groups and interests. Typically comprised of a private living space and a full kitchen, these communities offer homes with many of the amenities of apartment life but with none of the hassle. Guests can be invited over and entertained, and there will be more time to spend with them with the basic maintenance of daily chores out of the way. While policies differ between communities, a number of residences allow pets as well. Nursing and health care services may always be arranged for with independent care providers if desired. There are a number of advantages and expenditures to keep in mind while choosing an independent living community. It is important to learn if these amenities are covered in the plan: meals, housekeeping, wellness program, internet access, laundry, parking, initial assessment fee, and Waiting list deposit. The conveniences that pertain to independent living include beauty salon & barber shop, restaurant-style dining hall, healthcare center, concierge services, game/TV room, transportation, golf course, and laundry service.
