Independent Living

If you or your loved one desire the peace of mind of having your chores handled while living at your own pace, consider an Independent Living Community. Basic needs such as meal preparation and housekeeping are handled by staff and a calendar of recreational and leisure activities is provided, allowing residents an opportunity to use their time as they see fit, free from daily obligations. Along with their daily needs being met, residents can enjoy an opportunity to be among peers, in a community with others of similar age groups and backgrounds. Residents’ quarters consist of a private living space with their own kitchen. The independence of apartment life is still enjoyed, offering an opportunity to entertain guests and visitors in a private and personal setting. While policies differ between communities, numerous residences allow pets as well. Nursing and health care services can always be arranged for with private care providers if desired. There are a number of benefits and costs to keep in mind when deciding on an independent living community. It is important to learn if these services are covered in the care plan: private phone, internet access, Waiting list deposit, transportation, wellness program, cable TV, housekeeping, and field trips. The amenities that pertain to independent living include laundry service, beauty salon & barber shop, golf course, healthcare center, concierge services, fitness center & swimming pool, community activities, and restaurant-style dining hall.
