They try to do a nice outing once a week - a meal at a restaurant, a picnic at a park, Lion Country Safari, etc. as well as outings to retailers and the grocery store. I would recommend Finnish American Village to anyone who needs to have Assisted Living Care. The nurses are very caring, the food is great, and the activities are plenty. They have a lot of activities - arts and crafts, bingo, church, lots of varied and fun things. They go out twice a week to the grocery store as well as a fun outing, to the mall or to the zoo for instance. The residents have a say and get to vote on what they want to do. There's a cleaning service that cleans the apartment, which is included in the rent. It's an older place, but it's really nice. The assisted living area of the community has two private suite floor plans to choose from and a variety of indoor activity rooms. There is a Finnish sauna and an exercise gym that offers classes. The skilled nursing area of the community provides services from long-term medical care to hospice care. Residents in this facility can access a social worker, physician, and medical director as needed. Rehabilitation services are also provided.
