This place has been in a downward spiral since the executive director came on board a year ago, compounded with Fountainview being taken private. Since then, there has been almost a complete turnover in staff in every aspect of the operation. Basic upkeep is nonexisitent. Dirty carpets and elevator (even the recently refurbished one), poor housekeeping, holes in the wall, broken air conditioning, moldy ceiling tiles, rusty ceiling frames, dirty chair cushions, malfunctioning master fire alarm, and broken entrance gate to name a few. The food service is in dire need of improvement; slow service, lukewarm food, and menu experimentation. This is their 3rd or 4th chef in 18 months. When the Executive Director is addressed with problems, she never takes responsibility and replies that its being worked on, as weeks and months and over a year for the elevator, go by. The nursing staff is caring but understaffed. It's not a place I'd recommend. Take a tour of Building 5 and see for yourself.

My mother is on a very limited income. After one year, they sent intention to raise the rent. My mother being quite upset; I contacted Fountainview by email and explained the financial problem. They responded and asked if I would like to request a rate increase exemption. I answered in the positive. I requested an exemption and asked if there was any formal procedure to be followed. That email was on [date removed]. A month has gone by (today is [date removed]), and still no response. I tried emailing and calling many times. Voicemails and emails are not answered. the increase is supposed to go into effect [date removed]. Very frustrating.
Inexperienced and unresponsive management. We picked this community because they stated they we're building 4 PICKLEBALL courts, which my mom plays But, they have no programs in place/ no teaching pro, which they promised.[name removed] , the executive director of FountainView, is blaming the lack of any PICKLEBALL program on a missing fence.

August 2, 2023While we do have a number of residents interested in playing Pickleball, summer temperatures in West Palm Beach make playing this time of year unappealing to folks. We are looking to hold a 'grand opening' event for our courts in the fall once temperatures moderate a bit, and look forward to seeing some energetic play from our residents. We hope your mom will join with her neighbors in christening our courts then.

What a disappointment. I moved here [date removed] and now it is a month later with an inoperable refrigerator. I have had altercations with director of maintenance. All he does is yells and blames me for the refrigerator. He is obnoxious band tried to intimidate me which I will not allow. I have put in three requests to fix or replace and i am sitting here on a Saturday afternoon refrigerator not working. I drive and when maintenance comes by once yesterday I was not home and do not allow anyone in my room without me. Is this good service? Refrigerators should be treated with priority. I have spoken to appropriate individuals.

We found the facility to be excellent, our loved one was made to feel really secure in a fine facility. I told our loved one that she would probably never do better as it was such a fine place to live. Unfortunately our loved one had no recollection of even being there. Our loved one had to move out for a bit; however, we are hopeful they are able to move back to this community. I was telling our loved one that I wish I could move in here myself, I would do that in a heartbeat.. Thank you for your services, and please know that all the staff at the Fountainview was very professional and friendly and welcoming.

The carpets on the mail floor by the dining room and kitchen are always filthy and practically worn out. One elevator has been out of service for months. The one remaining elevator is not reliable. The fire dept has been called in twice in the past two months to get residents upstairs when the one remaining elevator is inoperable. The food quality has improved but they run out of food if you don't go early. Portions are very very small and often served luke warm or cold. It's never served hot. The place has deteriorated in the 6 months my mother has been there. Many residents have been leaving due to the continued problems. Staff does as best as they can with the staffing levels. They could use more help. I would not recommend this facility at this point in time.

Note that I am happy to report the planned update on our elevator is nearing conclusion, and while we know this has been inconvenient for residents at times the team doing this work has remained on schedule during this extensive project. Note also that we've made some changes in our dining services and recent resident feedback on these changes has been extremely positive, including on portions sizes which are served based on dietician recommendations. Our family had an in person tur and we thought it was a nice tour experience, and the price point was reasonable. One of the reasons we did not pick this community is our loved one would of had to walk a great distance outside to get to the different buildings - it is covered but with is being in Florida you are still exposed to the elements.

Note that due to the layout of our community the walk from your front door to any of the many activity areas is usually quite close. Some of these are located on each floor and others just steps away through the covered walkways between buildings. Our residents love the open feeling of our community and enjoy the fresh air, birds, fish, and other wildlife on our property -- and love it when we host activities on the beautiful grounds around the pool area. We invite you back to join us at one of our many programs and see this for yourself!
It's a good place overall. Not amazing, but definitely not bad. It's a nice place and a decent value.

We love the atmosphere of Fountainview, it is almost like living on a cruise ship. We love the really nice open walkways they have, it is very spacious and very clean but not overly crowded and overwhelming. The staff members are incredibly friendly. Our loved one enjoys the Wii bowling, bingo, the ice cream socials and happy hours. They also have church services. The meals are great and based on our experience we would definitely recommend Fountainview to other families. We do wish every month they would carry over the money not used for the meals - if you do not spend all that money you end up loosing it.

We've had a pretty good experience so far, with only a few minor issues, and some of that had to do with our person simply going through an adjustment period on his end. But it has been a good choice for him. The people are extremely friendly. Their willingness to go over and beyond and take care of the residents has been great. [name removed] in sales has been fantastic to work with. And the apartment is nice.

I would recommend Fountainview to others. However, we did have a couple of initial problems when mom moved in. Upon arrival, they gave her a wearable help call button. Three weeks after she moved in, I realized the call button wasn't working at all. They resolved it immediately, but I was concerned that it wasn't tested before they gave it to her. Also, they didn't wash her hair for the first four weeks, which is a long time. Once I brought both of those things to their attention, they quickly resolved them. Things are better now and we haven't had any other issues. Staff is ok, some are nicer than others. My mom seems to like the food very much. The facility is nice and clean. They keep mom occupied five afternoons a week with activities. I would probably recommend them. Even with our problems in the beginning, which again they addressed immediately once I brought them to their attention.

I would recommend you try Fountainview for your loved ones. All my loved one's needs were meet, it did take a couple phone calls to make this happen. The only issue we had was the buzzer to allow visitors in to see my loved one. This is because of the short stay of 30 days is not connected to the community's buzzer system. The weak link was the food for my loved one. There were times the breakfast order was delivered with incorrect food or cold. My loved one enjoyed the short stay, and my loved one would like to go back to the community. The community made it an easy transition into and exit from the community for my loved one and family.

The tour was nice but I was not the biggest fan of the layout for my loved one. It is a smaller facility and the apartment sizes here are much smaller but costed more.

My loved one really likes this community. He has met many other residents who were in independent living and moved here and they are very happy about being here at this community. My loved one was hesitant at first but it all went well. We had to order everything on amazon for his apartment and they went in and helped him set up everything and they went above and beyond to make sure that my loved one had everything that he needed.

The friendliness of the staff members is excellent, they are amazing. The meals and dining service is where they are having some issues - the meals they serve are super tasty but the problem is with the dining service, sometimes it is a little slow and they could use a little more training. However even with being understaffed they are doing their best and being extremely helpful and all the activities being offered now are fine. Hopefully more and more can be brought back.

We chose Fountainview because of all of the reasons listed above. It is a bright and cheery environment and the facility itself is well maintained. The apartment size is good for what they need. I would tell others to just ask a lot of questions and watch for their sales. I would recommend to others looking.
