Although there's always room for improvement, I would give a 5 to all questions. I stayed there for five months as my mom's caretaker. My mom passed in January and my Dad has moved to a smaller unit and is doing well. It's a smaller facility so the staff usually greet you by name and knows something about you. The new director mingles with the residents during activities and meals. I would recommend Discovery Village at Palm Beach Gardens. They seem to hire people who care and aren't hesitant to let someone go if they aren't suited for that kind of work.... Read more

Almost all of the memory care facilities, do not provide what they think they do. They are more nursing homes than anything else. Some of the people are beyond ability to participate in activities a small percentage are, but they're really not lead or motivated to do so and the food in the memory care end of the facilities where there is also independent and assisted living is not comparable Memory Care food is barely acceptable, some meals are good but that is not usual

Overall experience -for her specific needs, this place does not satisfy. It's a nice-looking facility. Cleanliness -the common areas are usually clean, but in her private space, I have encountered heaped up dirty laundry in the shower, soiled bed linens unchanged for multiple days, snack food left sit for weeks, and inexplicable things like someone took all her framed family photos and put them in a stack facing down so she can't see any. Friendliness - CNAs are friendly and hardworking. I don't see anyone else. Care services - decent care from CNAs, but I don't see any evidence of other staff being present. Meals - our loved one has gained a few pounds. Activities - the good ones are in the main ALF. Value for cost - I'm spending [fee removed] additional per month on private duty. [fee removed] for room and board and twice-weekly laundry is an obvious corporate cash grab. It's a good community as general Assisted Living for folks with mild to moderate memory loss and/or moderate physical handicaps. For them it's like living on a cruise ship I imagine. Their memory care unit is too big and understaffed to provide adequate care. The issue is with management. They simply do not have enough hands-on management-- not when it comes to activities, medical supervision, 1:1 resident interaction. The execution of all day-to-day stuff is left up to a handful of CNAs.

Our family had an in person tour and it was a really nice tour experience, staff were very nice but it was just to expensive for our family
The personnel and facilities are extra ordinary. Great care, fun activities and personal service.

This community only had an indoor pool and it was a therapy pool and that was one of my loved ones requirements.
This community was a close second for my loved one. Nothing was wrong with this community we just got a better vibe at the other location that we went with.

A Place for Mom has scored Discovery Village at Palm Beach Gardens 6.3 out of 10 using our proprietary review score.
We assign review scores to give a more reliable view into senior living communities and home care agencies. Our review scores prioritize reviews that are recent — the past 24 months — because we know families need current information when choosing senior care.
Those with many recent, positive reviews receive a high review score, while providers with few recent reviews — regardless of how positive — receive a lower review score. Communities with no recent reviews will not have a review score, even if older reviews are positive. The maximum A Place for Mom review score a community can receive is 10 points.
