An amazing place for family

Every single worker there that we have encountered and deal with treat every single person as if they were apart of a family which makes a big different. All of the employees no matter their position will step in to help - if the Executive Director is walking around and sees a residents needing assistance they will stop immediately and help them out. They have a ton of activities and different games for the residents - there is something going on 5 out of the 7 days. Once a month they have a family night where you can RSVP and be apart of a dinner and activity. You also can come on any regular night, just giving them a heads up so they can set up their separate room for you. We appreciate their accommodation's and we would absolutely recommend this community to other families.... Read more

very friendly helpful satff

I had a tour of the facility last month and was very impressed with the staff and knowledge I was given. My mother is not ready for memory care at the moment. I will definitely look at moving my mom here when she is ready.

Fun music and activities

We really like that our loved one and come and go anytime she pleases, there are no time constraints which is great. The management there listens to everything we have to say and is very receptive - they try their best to be as accommodating as possible. They have a ton of great activities for the residents to do and based on our experience so far we would absolutely recommend The Heritage of Clearlake to other families.

A Real Home

My husband has been there over a year and a half, and they have not let us down. If you think there's anything that needs attention, they've already solved it before you can even come to them about it. They are just fabulous. They have him talking in sentences, which amazes me. He was not anywhere close to doing that before he got there. When he left the hospital before arriving at The Heritage, I didn't think he would live through the week. To my surprise and delight, he is still alive and kicking and just so happy. He gives me hugs and kisses, and I still get to hear him laugh. He loves their food. The entertainment director has such heart and does everything she can for the residents. [name removed] is so compassionate. The new nurse is wonderful. The med tech [name removed] told me today that he's standing to transfer, which again he wasn't doing. He has a good life there, and he deserves it. They work well in conjunction with hospice care. I'm grateful that I'm able to afford The Heritage due to our hard work and savings. They are just terrific.

Excerpts of Family Support of Placement

Geriatric/Psychiatric Nurse, BSN,RNC,MHP. "This is the (top) of care..of course he is doing well..You have chosen his placement well..indicates to me that he has a sense of peace inside and that the staff there know their business and are succeeding in building relationship with him..it's a family of good people. How happy that must make him..and you.How nice they make such an effort to create family and community feeling for residents and their families.."Retired Dept.Health Svcs."..the staff there are wonderful! I don't recall anyone talking about having an experience where the staff reached out with ideas for the family like you noted. Nice to know they are so invested in providing a good experience." Nurse, RN"..their care of..is competent and comprehensive. You've made some excellent choices in facilitating his care..he'll have people to be engaged with..You instinctively know he needs the care and support he'll get where he is now..you are doing a very hard thing for his sake.".

Safe and Happy Place

Our loved one enjoys life in Addington Place of Clear Lake. They cooperate with staff. They appear to feel at home and safe. Staff all seem to be constantly aware of how to best care for this Memory Care patient. The staff develop a sense of community and family. Have been helping this resident with special needs and obtaining the medical care our family member needs. The food is delicious and thoughtfully served in appropriate dishware to make dining a pleasant experience for our family member. The staff reach out to learn about the resident and always seem to promote engagement.

I would recommend the community

They take really good care of our loved one at The Addington, they are on top of him and really work well with his health issues. He has started to go down hill very quickly because he has dementia and Parkinson's. We also have long term hospice there watching over him, which makes us feel good since its like an extra pair of eyes. They are just really on top of his care.

Staff keeps my mom engaged

I like this facility because they keep my mom engaged and they take really good care of her. They treat her well and she is happy here. For activities, they offer things like exercise groups, car games, crafts, and baking classes. It’s a very clean and homey environment. Her room is spacious and came furnished. The food is good here but they don’t have a lot of options because it’s for memory care residents and they would be indecisive. I would recommend this facility to other families.

Staff keeps me well informed

This is a very small community and it is a memory care facility. I like how they keep me well informed of my friend’s health and I feel like they have her best interest in mind. For activities, they offer things like games, movies, and someone also reads the paper too them. The facility itself is very nice and clean. My friend’s room is also very spacious with her own closet. I would recommend this facility to other families.

Very nice and observant caregivers

My Mother-in-law lives here and, so far, it’s been great. The staff is made up of caregivers that are assigned to everyone (I think they have 1 caregiver for every 3 or 4 residents). They always seem to notice where she is and you can tell they pay attention. She seems to love the food and they always provide a great variety. She’s from Honduras and the very first day she was there they made fried plantains. It feels like they really try to cater to the residents a little more than a lot of other places. If the residents have certain likes or dislikes, they tend to go with that instead of just handing them a plate from a set menu. The facility is really clean and doesn’t smell like a nursing home at all. Housekeeping comes by the room to empty the trash every day and does the laundry 3 times a week. This place has been wonderful, I recommend them.
