Mom lived at Light Heart for 3 years. To see mom go through this journey was very tough. I'm so glad we found Light Heart. They were able to tailor daily physical and cognitive activities based on her needs. They incorporated cognitive behavioral training which assisted mom with coping mechanisms as the disease progresses. Mom had Parkinson's which caused memory deficits and balance problems. They brought in Physical therapists and even a personal trainer to combat atrophy. We always knew she would decline, but I'm glad as a family we can choose where to send mom so she can decline safely and surrounded by caregivers that love her and spend time with her. In mom's last year, it was the toughest, she didn't recognize me anymore. Light Heart became my family. They became mom's advocate. We fired one hospice company and one home health company because they didn't provide the care that Light Heart stands behind. I will be eternally grateful for the time, care & respect they gave my mom.... Read more
Light Heart Memory Care is a board and care home in Webster, which is in the Houston, Texas metro area. For years we’ve dedicated our home to enriching the lives of our aging community. We understand the difficulties of finding quality memory care, and are trained to compassionately and professionally support the unique needs of everyone in our community. We believe that retirement should be a time where seniors are granted the peace to age in place, and we’re happy to provide a suitable facility, great staff, and essential services to cater to the lifestyles of everyone we serve.
Our compassionate staff are available to assist residents with all personal care needs. From activities of daily living (bathing, grooming, eating, etc.), to medication reminders, we are thoroughly available to keep residents in a safe and comfortable environment where they have a reliable helping hand, and can still experience independence to their liking. We have a very small, close-knit group of people who reside at Light Heart, and we believe this offers great opportunities for residents to make connections with everyone in the community. Our regular staff ratio is one staff member to every four residents, allowing for close,...

Booked consultation from the website, toured the facility, and was pleasantly surprised. Clean, caring staff and engaging activities for the residents.

I toured the facility as well as their Clear Lake one. It felt like home and I could tell the people that lived there were well taken care of. We have visited several ALF's in the area (not lightheart) and this one didn't smell either and the caregiver ratio is the best we found. We weren't able to place because mom got sick too fast and we were wanting the Clear Lake home since it was closer to our house. We had to put her on hospice and our home caregivers were less than adequate. Mom passed in a couple days. My biggest regret is not placing mom with Light Heart earlier. Don't make the same mistake I did.
Hi, I'm [name removed]. Grandma wanted me to write this for her for her mother that stayed at Hollydale at Light Heart. Grandma said that Light Heart was such a blessing to her mother. Heather was kind, helpful and always took care of mom. They worked with her financially in some tough times and mom lived at Light Heart for 4 years until she was 99 years old. They always have taken care of mom and the other ladies in the house as well. They communicated so well with me.
It was a sad day when I had to see my dad finally be put in a home. I was the primary caregiver but I was tired. When we decided to find a safe place for him, I am so thankful we found Light Heart. It was heartbreaking but I am the forever optimistic one. At some points his memory would bounce back or a flicker of a memory would bring back the dad I used to know. Light Heart caregivers were always kind and knew how to take care of my dad. I was nervous they would kick him out because sometimes he gets angry, but they reassured me sometimes that's a part of the disease progression. At Light Heart my dad was living in an actual home something he was used to growing up and it helped him transition easily. He had a big bad sore on his bottom and he couldn't walk anymore, but a couple weeks of being at Light heart dad was able to walk again and the bedsore was completely healed. They were able to bring in doctors and hospice to help with dad's needs.
Placed my dementia inflected mother in law in the facility several months ago and have a wonderful experience with their management and care. They provide better care than we were able to provide and with the small number of occupants, the staff is able to handle the occupants with greater attention to their needs. They are wonderful with accommodating her special needs without any add on additional costs. My father in law is able to go and feed her personally and is able to eat with them without any costs. There are no restrictive visiting hours, so we can visit 24 hours a day if needed.
