Affordable Memory Care
This community is more affordable than other places in the area. I would recommend to visit often and to make sure that you ask questions about the care. They don't inform often so we have to stay on top of our loved ones care. However, other than this everything is good.

Amazing Place!
I really think the people who left the 2 bad reviews are leaving them for another facility... NOT Sundance. I disagree a million grand times with those reviews. I can not be any happier with the care my mom is getting. I am at peace with how my mom is flourishing in the Montessori program at Sundance. It is unbelievable how they provide a purpose for daily living. Montessori approach is creating an environment that engages people to be independent in every aspect of themselves which in turn gives them a sense of purpose, dignity, and trust. I always thought, if I ever had children I would send them to Montessori school. Switching roles with my mother from child to caregiver I am happy I still held on to that dream and chose Montessori for my mom. I have kept my promise not to just “put my mom away in a nursing home”.. She is LIVING at Sundance (her new home) with amazing people, thriving, and enjoying stellar quality care. The staff have been like no other- I have several of their phone numbers in my phone along with the owner [name removed]. They are ALWAYS within a texting reach or phone call. They always respond! During these hard times with Covid, [name removed] and Renate have been so understanding and accommodating with setting up Skype and FaceTime for my mother and I to visit any time I want. The owner, [name removed]... There is no other person on this planet I have ever met who has genuinely cared so much for me and my mom. He has spent a lot of time with me, especially in the beginning of the transition from home to Sundance. He sympathized right along with me when times were hard and always reassured me it will get better. He has really set the bar extremely high! [name removed]has also included me in weekly webinars about Montessori and Dementia which have been so very helpful for me to understand the disease. I knew literally nothing about dementia before I met [name removed]. We were lost and I was very scared I was not going to be able to find proper help for my mom who is a retired nurse. I only wanted the best because I know she deserves it- she has cared for people her whole life... Sundance has changed our lives for the better because of how they respect my mom for the life she led prior to dementia and they give her purpose. Also, [name removed]has been excellent through the whole Covid shutdown. Very very strict on keeping the residents safe beyond all means and I really appreciate that. His staff has made unbelievable commitments to 100% shelter in place other than going to Sundance to take care of some of the most vulnerable people for work. I have felt so safe for my mom to be there when other senior facilities have fallen short and had covid breakouts. I could seriously write a booklet on how Sundance is the bees knees lol. I feel like the luckiest girl and I feel like my mom must have been a saint in her past life because she is the luckiest of all. Oh! and my mom loves the food. All the residents have a hand in menu planning whether it is cotton candy or NY strip steaks, Sundance accommodates. She likes to tell me she is the "Dietary Director".. Simply warms my heart.

Choose another facility
Unfortunately this facility has really gone downhill in the past year. They can not keep a director or nurse, the CEO is running it into the ground and I have moved my mother to a new place. I would not recommend this place, it is dirty, they do not keep up with activities and the turnover is staff is terrible. Please place your loved one somewhere else.

Declined in the past year
Unfortunately this facility has really declined in the past year, They can not keep a director or a nurse more then a month, many leaving in weeks. The activities are lacking, the place is not very clean, if I could add a picture I would do so. We moved our love one out of this facility recently and would not recommend it.

Sundance IS number One, as voted in Austin American Statesman and Austin 360 Magazine poll.
Wonderful place for residents with dementia/Alzheimer’s etc. Use of Montessori teaching methods allows residents to live up to their capabilities. Caregivers and administrators are caring and kind. Highly recommend SUNDANCE Premier Memory Care in Cedar Park, Texas.

Borders on Neglect
We chose this facility in 2016 for our mom because it was nice and new and the staff was awesome, however, within a very short time the entire staff turned over and was replaced. Avoid this facility for your loved one if they are in need of a great deal of care. The residents' doors are locked 24/7 and if they are not ambulatory on their own, they are out-of-sight, out-of-mind. The facility is short-staffed (ridiculously so on weekends) and caregivers receive little to no training upon hire. My mom's room was rarely cleaned and there was almost never a liner in any trash cans. Some nights she was not put into her bed, but just laid across the comforter with no blanket. The dining room on the side of the building for residents that need extra care is usually filthy with food left on the floor most of the time. They follow the guideline of having a nurse available by phone as the protocol for non-daytime hours, however there is almost never a nurse on the floor during regular daytime hours - they are in their office. We had high hopes for this facility but found it borders on neglect. By the time we realized this, my mom was not in a condition to be moved.

We are pleased with the entire staff
My dad is being well taken care of at this community. He is pleased with the meals. The caregivers are wonderful, encouraging and have taken a liking to him. He has made friends and he has started to participate in a few of the daily activities including the music program. The community is clean. They have a nice shaded patio, walking grounds and rocking chairs outside. I would recommend this community.

Very nice facility but major drawback is insufficient evening care to help patients with hygiene, dressing into night clothes, and making sure they stay in bed or out of other rooms. Food is marginal too.

A great fit!
The main reason that we chose this community was for the putting green. My father's whole life revolved around golf and having that available for him made the transition smoother. He has his own putters in his room and he has the freedom to go out to the main area when he wants to. The staff there are all personal;e and nice, I have had a good experience with all of them.

What a truly great place!
My husband and I looked at a large number of places for my sister who had dementia and finally found Sundance at Brushy Creek. This place was always clean and I never smelled any urine or any other unpleasant odors. The place was always neat and had someone cleaning something. The staff were always pleasant and helpful, to my sister and to all of us too. It was very difficult to lose my sister to a very fast moving dementia and the whole staff were right there with us all the time. [Removed] was willing to keep in touch with us at all hours of the day and night if needed and gave us her phone in case we needed her expertise at odd hours to assist in matters to assist my sister. This was of great assurance to us that we could have access to her as the RN in charge when ever it was necessary. Fortunately, we did not have to call her, she was the one who had to call us when necessary. I cannot say enough good things about this place and every friend and family member that came to visit always said the same thing. I am very glad we found this place and I would not hesitate to place another family member at Sundance at Brushy Creek again if need be.

No Complaints So Far!
The move for my mother has been difficult, but the staff at this community have really helped my mother feel as much at home as possible. The room she is in is very comfortable, has room for all of her stuff and is maintained very clean. So far, we are very happy with our decision to chose this community.

Based on a tour. Opened in 2014, and split into 2 levels (higher level and lower level residents. I only toured higher level, as that's where my mom would be now.) Very nice place. No odor, and very clean. Residents seemed engaged and happy. A calendar showed that there were plenty of activities going on throughout the day. A bit too far ourside of Austin for me to visit my Mom, but if I lived closer, I would have no hesitation in introducing my Mom to this location.Of note, there was a resident tending the (secured) gardens while I was there. This is exactly the kind of thing I'd expect my own Mom to be doing.

Certainly recommend!
Sundance at Brushy Creek's approach to memory care is coordinated and planned. The staff is very experienced. It was a difficult transition for my Grandmother to go from being independent to living here and being assisted. We are happy with Sundance, it is very clean and neat. Everyone is very friendly. I would certainly recommend Sundance at Brushy Creek. The food looks good, it doesn't look like cafeteria food.
