The staff are amazing. They are very responsive. The food is good and the staff are very good about helping Mom make decisions on what to eat. Rooms are spacious, and the facility is clean. There are times when there are odors in the halls, but I will see maintenence cleaning the source of the smells. The first week my mom was there we had issues with medication being given on time. I had to remind them a few times about it but the did finally get her meds in the system and now it's fine. We picked this community because of the, updated community, and there were several care staff visible on the 3 times I visited and I was able to observe how they interact with the residents.... Response from Oakmont of Las Vegas
August 25, 2023Diane, we really appreciate your positive review! We're so happy you are finding our team to be so supportive. It is our pleasure to care for your mom!
What we liked most about the Oakmont of Las Vegas community is the sense of safety as well as personalized quality care. We would recommend this community to other families looked for a place for their loved ones based on the experience we had.

We've only been there a year, but have noticed a lot of staff turnover, from the director to the attendants. And the administrative staff is woefully non- responsive. The food served has lots of fat, salt and sugar and still tastes bad. I DO recommend them. There are some issues that folks should be aware of before committing. They're still good value for the money, especially compared to California. And I also think these issues are probably ubiquitous across the industry.

My family and loved one have had a good experience with the community. The staff have been very attentive and helpful every step of the way. The community and facility is well kept. Everyone is friendly. There are activities and meals to assist with socialization for the residents. Overall, this is a community we would recommend to others.

One of the biggest positives and deciding factors for us was how quickly they were able to get my mom moved in when she was getting released from rehab. They turned around the apartment for her in 5 days, which provided a safe transition for her from the rehab facility. The staff was super friendly, although not necessarily as responsive as I would have liked. But I imagine that's probably the same anywhere you would go. They got to know my mom in the two weeks she was there and were definitely sad when she passed and showed a lot of empathy. It's a little pricey, but it's a nice place.

We toured Oakmont of Las Vegas during our search for Assisted Living for our loved one. The facility and tour were great. The atmosphere, cleanliness, and friendliness were also great. We would have chosen this facility, but it was a little too far from home for us.
This facility is best for residents with some level of independence. My mother was there less than a week, but, staff was pleasant so far as I could tell. My mother was too advanced for their level of care, but the nursing director made decisions to try to get better care for my mom. The nursing and admissions director were great to work with.

I have a dear friend who moved into Oakmont of Las Vegas in June with her dog. She was in a senior community previously, but had a fall where there was no help. She fell and laid on the floor all night long. Oakmont has been a blessing as there is always help when needed it’s only a push of her pendant away. She loves the Sunday breakfast special, of Lox and bagels, and the grilled Salmon on the daily menu. If you’re looking for a home for your loved one, I highly recommend at least visiting Oakmont of Las Vegas…It’s a warm and caring community

I can say with 100% certainty that the generous, caring people of Oakmont changed our family's lives. A few weeks ago, we found ourselves in a very overwhelming position of needing a safe place for my parents immediately. While most communities told us this would take weeks, [name removed], the Marketing Director at Oakmont, dove in and made it happen for us in 5 days - removing obstacles, securing resources, moving mountains; doing so with empathy and compassion every step. I truly believe it saved my parents. The staff here are nothing short of incredible. Every caregiver has embraced my parents like family; making what could have been a scary, hard transition something where they have felt supported and surrounded by true friends. When I come to visit, I am surprised to see they know every single person on a first name basis...and by the time I leave, I am on a first name basis with them too! Oakmont's staff and management truly care so much, and I have already recommended them to man

Oakmont of Las Vegas was my first experience with an assisted living facility and I couldn't have asked for a better experience. It takes special people to work at care facilities and Oakmont has some of the best. I think instead of Assisted Living, Oakmont needs to be called "Assisted Loving"! Thanks for all that you do!

I am free to come and go as I please, I do not take part in most activities as I only like to play bridge, but many residents like the activities provided. Food is not too diabetic friendly but it is improving

After my mom passed my dad needed help. He has many health issues and trouble seeing. It was so nice because he felt comfortable there from the start. The price was in budget and it was clean

We have had some issues here. Ultimately, we chose this facility because it fit our budget, seemed like a good place, and they offer Memory Care as well (thinking long term, incase mom needs that later on). They also have PT and OT in house, which is very helpful and convenient. We're paying extra for special care/assistance that mom needs and the staff isn't always responsive when she calls for it. The main one being assistance to and from the restroom. We've met with the Director about it 3 times and each time we've been told that things will improve. Things do improve for a couple of days and then we're back to square one. We've just been really concerned about her being able to get to the bathroom on time. One time, she had called for assistance for a restroom visit and ended up having an accident because she waited so long. She felt terrible and apologized to the aide that she had to clean it up. The aide told her, next time just to keep on/soil her Depends and that they'd change it for her as soon as they could. Also, we're concerned with medications and them being given at the correct time. Sometimes they're delayed. Honestly, if mom could afford a different facility, we would move her. They oversold us. Their brochure is misleading. For example, it advertises gourmet meals, which is not the case. A lot of the food that they serve is not very healthy or good quality. We're trying our best to get things improved for mom so that we don't have to put her through another transition. I'm concerned for some of the residents who aren't verbal and/or don't have family there to advocate for them. I've even told the director that. I will say, the director is receptive when we bring up our concerns. It's the follow through that's the problem. I would not recommend them to friends and family.

I am sharing my review in hopes that it will help other families, that may share in my experience. It was necessary that I move my father closer to me, as quickly as possible and did a great deal of research in the process. The care and personable way in which Oakmont of Las Vegas shared their services and commitment to my father, gave me great comfort. With this and with ease, I choose to move my dad in. Due to his condition at the time of his move in, it required that he be placed with their memory care team. I knew in my heart, that my father was not yet in the stages needing memory care and hoped with him settling in and their assessment, this could be changed. The team at Oakmont of Las Vegas from the first moment of his arrival, were attentive to our hopes and my father's needs. After two weeks and getting to know my dad, they moved him from memory care to assisted living. I am incredibly grateful to all, for this and the continued personalized care they provide.
