Everyone was so very helpful and kind. They were very patient with my dad. This was the first facility that my dad wanted to look at and we needed a place as soon as possible. We liked the people we met when we came to tour. There was a room available so that made our choice even easier and we got him in right away. I would 1000%recommend Oakmont of The Lakes to others.... My client is now residing at the Oakmont of the Lakes, and based on the tour experience we had originally the staff were very informative and my client has many question. Every aspect of the tour was delightful, including the lunch they even prepared for us.
They have a large entertainment fee up front which seems to go mostly to singers and party food. They don't have as many art activities as advertised. They don't serve avocados and salads are generally bare bones.

I toured this community and it was a super place! They even called it 'a cruise ship that never sails.' It was very nice, but expensive.
Our mom was diagnosed with dementia several years ago and has some difficulty walking. Mom moved into Oakmont of the Lakes' Las Vegas Memory Care Unit in [date removed]; she shares a room which has ample space for her single bed, nightstand, bookcase and chair. The room has a shared bathroom and two separate closets. The Memory Care Unit is pleasantly decorated, calming, and on the quiet side except for periodic activities and dinner! The food is delicious, healthy and generously portioned, games and activities are engaging and have helped our mom battle both her dementia and anxiety. After looking at many options we found Oakmont to be competitively priced and are grateful it offers hospice. BUT BY FAR THE MOST IMPORTANT ASPECT OF OAKMONT'S MEMORY CARE IS ITS INCREDIBLE, LOVING, PATIENT, PROFESSIONAL, AND CARING STAFF--this includes the amazing caretakers, the dynamo of an activities coordinator, and ALL the managerial staff! We are very happy with our mom's care at Oakmont.

Comparatively speaking mind you because I toured a few. The facility was bright and lively. Lots of different ages milling about making use of the facility. Greeted by everyone when entering and passing in the halls. Her apartment was very clean and updated with paint before she moved in. New carpet or very clean carpet in her apartment. The staff per my mother were all very kind. The admin. staff were lovely and thorough. I didn't eat at Oakmont but my mom loved the food. The dining area also very bright and lively. Sadly my mother didn't make use of the activities but I was impressed every time I visited her because there was something going on: speakers, craft classes, music like singing and piano. I thought the security measures in place were good. We sat outside to have lunch in the courtyard and it was also lovely.

I toured this community and it was beautiful. There was a lot of positive energy here. Very clean and staff was friendly. It was more expensive than most of the others we toured.
I work as a Community Liaison in the industry. Anytime one of our patients or many calls from word of mouth I automatically call Oakmont West Las Vegas. The vibe when you walk in is home. Everyone is happy, upbeat even when the day isn't going well. The food is outstanding, Residents are in line 30 minutes before the doors open looking for what's for breakfast?,lunch?, dinner. The chef and the nutritional make sure every meal is prepared with the adequate protein and calories needed for the senior population. The care staff is truly an amazing creative team. Not to mention the multitude of events that take place for the Residents..there is always something to fit any personality. As, I said in the beginning Oakmont West is my go to facility if someone is needing placement for their loved one. 100% recommended and vetted. Being in the industry for almost 20 years I feel I am an expert at IL, ALF and Memory Care situations and placement needs.

September 9, 2022Dear Jodi, your recommendation means so much to us and we're so happy to have earned it. Thank you for being a great community partner and taking the time to let others know about Oakmont. Have a great day!
I have a lot of residents in this building and they rave about the food here and snacks and drinks always being available. I love how they work with each resident and accommodate their dietary restrictions.

Response from Oakmont of the Lakes
September 9, 2022Hello Ashley, we appreciate you taking the time to leave us this feedback! Thank you!
Our father came to live at The Lakes a little over two years ago. When we toured the community we were impressed with how beautiful it was and how friendly everyone was. We were somewhat concerned because our dad is rather shy and keeps to himself. Well it didn't take long before he was making friends and actually joining in and taking part in things. He continues to thrive and even tho dad can be quite picky about the things that he likes to eat,the kitchen staff knows him well and go out of their way to bring him his favorite things and make special requests for him on a regular basis. Thank you again for taking such wonderful care of our dad!

Response from Oakmont of the Lakes
August 26, 2022Dear Lucy, thank you for taking the time to leave a review for us. We're happy that we are able to meet you and your father's expectations! We enjoy having him as part of our community.
The place is stunning. It’s very clean. They're very attentive. All the staff is overly friendly The billing department is the only concern we have. You just have to be very observant about your bill. There are lots of technical mistakes. The food is amazing. They even had lobster risotto the other day. There haven't been as many activities due to Covid, but that’s getting better.

This community was nice and had smaller rooms than some of the other communities it was also more expensive.
We have not had personal experience with the meas and dining service but from just seeing the dining hall it is beautiful and the meals look good. They do offer exercise classes and social setting activities, so the residents who choose to participate.

Response from Oakmont of the Lakes
December 11, 2021Kim, we really appreciate your positive review!
One of our impression of Oakmont especially after looking at other communities was that it is so bright, light, and open. It really has a happy and positive atmosphere to it. The activities director [name removed] is awesome, she always has something going on. There is live entertainment every week and they just do a really good getting the residents out and about and really encouraging them to stay involved. We were very impressed with the marketing director also, they know everyone's name and there are a lot of residents at Oakmont. It is a real family orientated community, and the med techs and aids are just as amazing.

The community is nice with friendly staff. They were able to assist with the transition of my loved from the care levels. The nice thing about this restaurant is they allow you to dress however you like and feel comfortable.

We had to move our loved one from memory care to assisted living and [name removed] and [name removed] was extremely accommodating. They set up our loved ones room so quickly. They have made our loved one feel very welcomed and comfortable. Our loved one has been very satisfied so far, and the activities are opening back up. The community has a lovely rose garden, it is absolutely phenomenal our loved one calls us all the time saying she walked around the garden. The dining service is very nice, they have nice lined tables where the staff members will come up to the residents and give them different meal options to choose from. People are always smiling there and mingling with each other, that was one of our major measuring sticks to make sure this was going to be the place for our loved one.

It's a beautiful facility. They have really nice outdoor areas with gazebos and patios where you can sit and eat lunch when the weather is nice. They have a chef on staff, but the food is a little fancy for my loved one's taste, and a little spicy sometimes. But they work with you and let you pick other things off the menu. She really loves the soups they make. And most people there like the food, so it's just a matter of taste. They have a lot of activities and do things for all the holidays, which has been good. I would highly recommend them to just about anybody. They have been excellent in helping us do pretty much everything. They've had trouble getting help, like everybody else in the area, but they have great people there. The memory care manager is really wonderful. All the girls there are wonderful and have been very helpful, especially the girls in the front office. They really helped me get my loved one moved in and settled. I know my loved one is safe, and they keep an eye on her. I really appreciate the staff a lot.

We found Oakmont of the Lakes to be very expensive. And nothing looked particularly nicer than other places we considered. My biggest concern was that they were just starting a memory care facility there, so I wasn’t sure if that was going to be very effective for my loved one.
We moved mom to Las Vegas in 2012, so she could be near us. She has lived at this facility for 8 years. From Assisted Living to their new Memory Care unit, I could not have been more pleased with her care. They treated us all like family. [name removed] is in charge of some very caring, compassionate, staff members. She leads by example. She was loved by us and Mom. Great place for your member to live!!

The rooms and overall layout of Oakmont would be a five out of five, for us we have the only two bedroom in the place so it works out. The food would be about a four out of five, and we would absolutely recommend this community to others
