For the price, the apartment is very spacious in comparison to the many other places I looked at. It's a nice place to live as long as you're 100% going to take care of yourself. Don't expect anything at all from the staff. Don't expect to get any of the medical care or things like that that you're paying for. They don't clean. The general areas were fine, but as for what they were supposed to do in the apartments, I would give them a 0. There are zero activities. But the staff are very nice about not doing anything.
This community is deceiving when you drive up to it. The outside looks like separate apartments and we thought our loved one would not be able to function due to isolation, but when you get inside it's designed to where all of the doors are inside and the residents are safe. We did not pick this community because a lot of the residents here did not speak to us or try to communicate. They seemed more advanced than my loved one.
I wanted a community that was smaller and not to overwhelming for my loved one. The tour was very good and they gave me all of the information that I needed it was just not the environment that I was looking for for my loved one.
All of you are nice
I love living here

I liked Oakey equally as much as the place Mom ended up choosing. Mom didn't, although I couldn't pinpoint from her exactly why. Just a feeling I guess. I thought the staff was very friendly, and the accommodations seemed nice.
Our loved one is still adjusting so she has not really taken advantage of the activities and the meals and dining is still a little bit of a hit or miss. However the Oakey Assisted Living is a very clean cute and nicely remodeled facility. The staff members are very kind and are always there if we have any questions.
I would tell others to seriously check this community out. The staff is very professional. The layout is good. They have very, very good security for the residents. Some of the activities available include game night, movie night, poker night, and more for the residents to participate in. The staff is good about encouraging the residents to participate in the daily activities offered.
It's an amazing community. The community is well run, clean, and friendly. This is an amazing place for my loved one to be at. I feel blessed to have found this community. The food is great, and they even have a fish option for the residents to choose from.
Beautiful facility! We are hoping to maybe getting my Aunt in there.
We were very impressed. During our tour Staff and residents seemed upbeat and happy. And the manager that showed us around was thorough and very informative, answer all our questions and some we didn't know we had.
the community doesn't have memory care. you needed to stay on the staff to make sure the care you are receiving is consistent. She couldn't eat in the dining room with others during covid due to her having a home health care witch made her feel isolated. They did make time to walk with her. Community's communication could have been better. The facility itself is great and it was very nice.
We chose this facility at the time because the staffing, the location, and it just seemed very welcoming and comfortable when you walk in. The room sizes are very good and they do have options to choose from. We did have some issues with medication, so I would tell others to stay on top of it if possible. Overall, we have been happy with Oakey Assisted Living and would absolutely recommend to others.
Oakey Assisted Living was a nice and clean community. The apartments were nice . They have pool tables, poker tables, a workout room, a library, and a salon. The activities calendar was full of many things to do. The care was good and the staff did their jobs. The food was typical mainstream food. We chose this community for its location and its price.
Excellent place for care! [Name removed] and [Name removed] are kind and helpful and offer the support you need. [Name removed], in charge of maintenance, is kind and works very hard to make sure the needs of the seniors are met. He is invaluable! [Name removed] and her support staff check on the health needs of the seniors and do an incredible job. Everyone pitches in to help and respond well to requests and communication is excellent and open and transparent. The chef is amazing! He loves to cook and it shows in his scrumptious menus that are healthy and diverse. The prices are fair for living there and what they provide. Lots of activities for seniors! They truly care and treat them just like family. The place is clean and modern and updated and rooms are good size. A beautiful place to live! We could not be happier to have placed our mother in their caring and gentle hands. The staff makes all the difference!
Unfortunately, I cannot give this facility a good rating. Its affordable, beautiful and clean but my mother was there for one month and hospitalized 3 times in that month. The last time she was sent to the emergency room it was because I stopped in to visit and found her incoherent, half undressed and SOAKED in urine. Her bedding and her clothes..all the way up to her pillow. In previous occurrences, while in the hospital (the 2nd time in 2 weeks) I went to check her room before she was to be discharged from the hospital, to find her bed completely stripped and all her bedding missing apparently laundered and distributed to other residents while she was gone. It was with the discreet guidance from the staff at the hospital that I was able to find and situate her somewhere else rather than return her to the facility. I should mention that the month cost me $2800.00 just in residential fees. A low cost by comparison to other facilities but I guess you get what you pay for. I was absolutely devastated to have to move her after such a short time but there was clearly no choice. It's been two months in her new home with no upsets.
They offer wonderful services for everyday living. I was pleased and amazed with everything I saw on the tour I was given.
Love it here!
