We really liked Heritage of Sandy Plains but it was far away and more pricey.
Heritage of Sandy Plains wasn’t the right fit for us. It was more of a retirement home than assisted living. But they were great. They were extremely nice in helping us figure that out, and very helpful.
This was our second choice on facilities. The gentleman who gave us the tour was very likable and convincing. We had no reservations about putting our loved one here. The only reason we did not choose this facility was because it was during he heat of covid and this county had more restrictions than some others we looked at.

They had a management change at the end of my father's life, and it wasn't handled well. It caused some unrest with residents and staff. There was no commentary to anyone about what happened. The had a friendly administrator and other staff. Then there were people how was asked to assume additional responsibilities. The reason I have a 4 instead of a 5 was because the way they handled the administrator change. The staff said we are consistently reminded not to get attached to our patients, and it was hard for us not to get attached with your dad.
Everything was always clean whenever I visited. The staff was very attentive and they never ignored any of the residents at all. Whenever any of them would raise an issue, they would always pay attention to them. They took good care of the residents such that they could be firm with them when they needed to be, but also compassionate as well. My dad always ate all the food they brought him. Definitely a good value for the price. There was some management turnover, the director and another member of the management team left, which was a little unsettling to the atmosphere.
Great staff! Very warm and caring!
Attentive and caring staff took very good care of my father during his 10-month stay. He enjoyed the available activities (bingo, exercise, etc.) as well as the company of the other residents. The facilities have been recently renovated and look great. Highly recommended.

February 25, 2019Hi James! Love to hear it! We are so glad your loved one felt comfortable and cared for in our community. It’s the highest form of praise!
My mom has lived here for just over three years now. The first year was in assisted living, then she needed to transition to memory care. The staff helped us ease into the change and went above and beyond to help her be comfortable. I visit often and am often amazed at how patient and loving the staff is, and how hard they try to make each day meaningful. It’s a happy home to her now!??

December 11, 2018Hi Jody! We are so glad that you have had a great experience with our staff. We are all a family here at Heritage of Sandy Plains. We will pass on your kind words.
We just moved my mom to Heritage of Sandy Plains and it was a surprisingly wonderful experience in what was a stressful and difficult time for our family. The staff is very kind and supportive. When we’ve needed a little extra help with things in Mom’s room, [name removed], [name removed] and [name removed] have been so responsive! Heritage has such a positive culture, starting with the management and continuing with all the care givers and staff. Highly recommended!

UPDATE: As a vendor working 100's of Senior facilities. It took Heritage of Sandy Plains over 3 months to pay a very small bill. A dozen phone calls and 1/2 dozen emails. Got the "check is in the mail" several times. Finally called Corporate and they weren't happy about it. Find another place to put your parents. The management here is unprofessional and not up to par with other established facilities in Atlanta and surrounding area. Someone from SLCMidwest commented on my last 1 star and said to contact them.....I'll get right on it.....wasted enough time with this.

December 10, 2018At Heritage of Sandy Plains, we appreciate all of our vendors and value the on-going partnerships that provide various services to our residents. There was a transition period with the previous Director as well as Business Office Manager exploring other opportunities that delayed this payment. As the new Director, I am committed to ensuring that all of our vendors are paid in a timely fashion. Regards, Wayman Parks.
Great staff and management. Mom came to me from New Jersey temporarily, however once Mom had a full physical examination she was admitted into hospice care. For the 90 days I had Mom with me, the ENTIRE STAFF was with me. Night or Day. The toughest time in my life. The staff, [Name removed] and the other management staff was by my side. I truly would not have made it through this without the wonderful people of Heritage of Sandy Plains. I shopped and interviewed a number of assistant living facilities before I choose Heritage. I tell everyone about them. Mom has gone to heaven and it was nice that Heritage of Sandy Plains gave her a bit of heaven while she was here. I love them ALL Thank You Heritage!!!!

November 16, 2018Hi Solon! Thank you for giving us your seal of approval. We are so glad you had a great experience with our entire staff. We are all a family here at Heritage of Sandy Plains. We will pass on your kind words.
I'm a vendor and work with 100's of communities for ten years. Most pay their bills and have professional staff. Heritage is now over 60 days on a $75 invoice and others in the industry I have talked with are having the same issue with them. This is a sign that something is wrong. If bills aren't being paid, there are troubles running within. Find another place and ask them if they are current on their bills and what the rotation is of their staff, another sign of problem.

November 9, 2018We are very sorry to hear that you may be having an issue here. Both the Heritage at Sandy Plains and Senior Lifestyle pride ourselves on developing and cultivating great relationships with our vendors, as well as maintaining those relationships. I would really like to speak further about this with you. If you are amenable to it, could you please email me at [removed] with the best phone number to reach you? Thank you very much
Very nice and organized facility. Much more active looking group than at Charter. About $1k/month higher. Kennessaw location same layout and care level (?) but approx $500/month cheaper. Didn't care for [Removed] the sales rep.

January 5, 2018Thank you so much for sharing your confidence in our community. We appreciate your feedback and we're delighted that you would recommend Heritage of Sandy Plains!
My father has recently made the move into this community and so far everything is going well for him. The staff are all lovely people and I have been especially impressed with the general manager [Removed]. He has helped make the transition easier and has accommodated all of our needs. I would have to say my favorite thing about the facility is the warmth of the place and how it feels just like home.

i can think of only positive things to say about Heritage on Sandy Plains. What is not to like! From the moment you walk through the door you feel welcome. My Mom has been at more expensive and so called "fancier" places but you never felt the love you do here. Since the executive director, [Removed], came almost a year ago the aesthetics and care have improved greatly. There is independent and assisted living plus a Legacy wing for memory care There are tons of activities arranged by a veteran social planner. If you like crafts, games-such as bingo, chair exercises, in house movies, or a trip into the community to eat, shop, or to see points of interest you will be delighted. Friday is happy hour with entertainment, food, and beverage. There is always something going on. The chef makes three meals a day and all of them are from scratch-only fresh foods not processed. His meals are amazing and he is in the dining room to serve and check on things and all help with pitch in as needed to serve, etc. Everyone is hands on working as a team in all they do. You feel comfortable with a nurse on staff and friendly med techs. They even have a wonderful beauty shop on site. In my opinion they bend over backwards to please and treat you like family. I am so happy we found this place and have encouraged others to come; they did and are equally pleased. [Removed]
My uncle is having a difficult time dealing with the loss of his wife and moving out of his home. He is adjusting and he likes this community. They offer many activities, take residents on bus rides shopping and to restaurants and even have a happy hour every Friday where they serve cocktails! He said the food is great too!
Mom had a good respite stay at Heritage. The staff are adequate and answered our questions. The food is ok and the community is nice and clean. They have a lot of room and encourage her to be active. We would use this community again.
I liked the community when I toured but it had an elevator and I did not want my dad to have to use that everyday, he is blind. They were on time for our appointment and did fine showing me the place and providing details about the care. Everyone was nice when I was here.
