We chose Winnwood Retirement because of all of the reasons above. Also when I walked in for the first time, it felt like home. As I went through the tour, the representative was awesome and it really felt like home compared to other places we looked. The apartment sizes are fine, this is our first experience so we had to really downsize, but it is perfect for me and I have a one bedroom. Very helpful and friendly place to be. All of the staff and residents have been great. I am happy where I am and I am glad I made this choice.... Read more

The staff are super friendly and accommodating at Winnwood Retirement Community, for sure. The housekeeping is good. The food quality is generally good. There is a high turnover rate with staffing, especially within the meals and dining staff.

My parents are very happy here, though the last few weeks have been rough. The pipes in the empty apartment across from them burst (freezing temps and the heat was not turned on) and several apartments on their floor and floors beneath them suffered damage. Other than putting a dehumidifier in their apartment, they have not yet begun to repair the floor damage in my parent's unit. Three or four days ago the water tower that controls the water for the heating and air conditioning in their building "broke" (not sure what that entails), so the entire building has been without heat or ac. I have some concerns, but they are very happy and do not want us to "rock the boat". We are happy they have adjusted so well and are enjoying it.

We had a wonderful tour experience with Winnwood- I was very impressed. The facility was clean and the staff were friendly and accommodating. This was our second choice. My loved one felt that the size and layout of another facility apartment would be easier for her to navigate which is the only reason we did not go with Winnwood.
Winnwood Retirement Community was our second choice. We thought it was very nice. The staff were wonderful, and they really tried to make it work for us. Ultimately we chose a place that was in closer proximity to family.
We were very impressed right away with how nice Winnwood was, the community is very nice and clean we liked it right off the bat. The staff are all very friendly, the meals are good and the activities are good.

Our family had an in person tour and it was a good tour but it did feel more outdated and like a nursing home.
This has been a very positive experience for my loved one. If you can afford the community it is an excellent choice. It feels like a cruise ship you don't have to dock though. They have a lot of activities available for the residents to participate in.

Winnwood Retirement seemed wonderful. We did a virtual tour since it was during covid times and they were very accommodating. We did not choose this facility because he would have to walk between buildings and he is a fall risk, so we wanted something that was all on one floor and in one building.
I thought Winnwood was wonderful. We toured before Covid and were really considering them. The woman who showed us around did a great job. It was just a matter of timing and some personal issues that kept us from moving in. But I liked that it was a small community, and very friendly. It seemed like the residents were very outgoing and friendly as well. I also liked the grounds and the history of the place.
When looking for a care facility for my mom, I included Winnwood in my search. The facility is beautiful and the grounds are well maintained. My concern Winnwood is that we put $1,500 deposit down but my mom was unable to move in. Half of the money was refunded, and I was informed that the rest would remain with the company. We did not fill out a formal application, we simply made a good faith deposit in hopes of securing the room. Very unfortunate situation for my 80 year old mom.
