Carriage Hill Assisted Living

When my brother and I and our spouses realized that our mother could not stay by herself anymore Carriage Hill was just being built on Route 155 in Madbury, an easily accessible and convenient location. After meeting with [name removed] and the chief of nursing we realized this assisted living would be perfect. And, it was. From her large beautiful windows, Mom loved watching people hiking, deer feeding and hawks soaring above the fields in this country setting. She enjoyed the music programs the most among the many offered and she made sure the family was aware of them so we could join her. She loved all the staff and they loved her, missing her when she passed. We were blessed and are grateful for finding Carriage Hill. Mom was blessed having it as her home for the last few years of her life.

It is an inviting, loving, caring, giving, and sharing community of families caregivers and residents.Beautiful setting with easy access to patio with view quiet setting but close to accommodations such as drug and grocery stores. Small number of residents, which creates family atmosphere. Family owned businesses.Food is excellent Overall couldn't ask for anything more.

I am writing this letter to recommend Carriage Hill Assisted Living, to anyone who is looking for their loved ones. My mother had been a resident at the facility and I was extremely impressed with the level of care that she received. The staff was highly trained and totally dedicated to providing the best possible care to all residents. They were always available to answer any questions that I had and they went above and beyond to ensure that my mother was comfortable and happy. The facility itself was always clean, well-maintained, and has all the amenities that my mother needed. She enjoyed going to lunch, participating in the sing a longs and having her hair and nails done. She also loved other activities that were offered and made many new friends while she was there. I would highly recommend Carriage Hill Assisted Living facility to anyone who is looking for a safe and caring environment for their loved ones.

A Vietnam Vet, my brother developed Parkinson's Disease so slowly that neither he nor I knew what it was for years and it went undiagnosed by his medical community. When it came to the point where it was no longer safe for him to live alone, we discovered Carriage Hill, just two miles away. A large home-like atmosphere with private rooms and large living and gathering rooms for activities and visiting, Carriage Hill, with 24 residents was ideal for him. The staff was caring, patient, and helpful with his needs as his health declined. They accepted his growing confusion and mild dementia from the disease with understanding and compassion and adjusted his daily needs accordingly and appropriately. The nurses and staff were in communication with me regularly about him. Attuned to his changing needs, they were able to bring in the hospice level of care he needed when it was time so he did not have to relocate! I am so thankful for the love and care they gave to Bob at the end of his life.

Our mother fell while living on her own, and fractured her hip. After a total hip replacement ,and a stay at rehab , we knew it was time for her to move into an assisted living facility. We met with several facilities in our area, but after meeting with Sara , the owner of Carriage Hill, we knew it was the place for our mom. Sara was warm, comforting ,and helped us navigate the unknown. All her qualities are part of the environment at CH Our mom lived at CH for 3 years and thrived. She was not only cared for, she was loved. We knew she was in good hands. She enjoyed the food, the activities ,and the outings. Every aspect of the residents safety was thoroughly implemented during COVID. The set up at CH is very homey making visits enjoyable for the families. In the end she passed away at CH in the care of hospice. The staff was compassionate and supportive during this time. We highly recommend Carriage Hill.

Carriage Hill fosters and exemplifies excellent Resident focused care in all aspects, including meals, nursing care, activities. Care is individualized for each resident. Families are encouraged to participate in events, etc with their family member.

My mother-in-law lived at Carriage Hill for more than 3 years. The staff were so good to her. From the administration to the nursing staff, from the aides to the kitchen staff - all were attentive to her individual needs. And they were also sensitive to the needs of the family. They made her feel welcome and part of the Carriage Hill family. They provided entertainment and a variety of activities appropriate for her age. They communicated with us all the way until her last breath. I would recommend Carriage Hill to anyone looking for a safe, compassionate “place for mom.”

As soon as we walked in the door at Carraige Hill we knew this was the place for him. We had looked at a lot of places but this felt right for him. It was homey and cozy and felt like a family atmosphere and my Dad loved it. He was very happy there, from his private room and many activities they offer. His favorite was going on their transportation bus to get ice cream. He made many friends there and couldn’t imagine himself being anywhere else. The staff was wonderful and the rent was very reasonable. Thank you for all you have done for my Dad.

Nothing can replace a loved one’s own home, but Carriage Hill comes pretty close! If you've looked at many facilities and interviewed many administrators & staff, as I have, when you walk through the doors of Carriage Hill, you will not only see that it is different, you will feel that it is different. It is small, tastefully decorated, and as warm and inviting as their resident- focused staff. In a few days, the staff knew our mother, became familiar with her likes & dislikes and helped her make the transition to assisted living life. They immediately involved mom in daily activities & weekly outings. Mom always looked forward to having her hair & nails done on site. It was as early as my initial conversation with the Administrator, that I knew Carriage Hill was going to be the right place for our mom. When I asked her why she decided to make assisted living her career, she replied that she and her siblings wanted a better life for their grandfather-so they built Carriage Hill.

When our mother came to the realization that she could no longer live alone in our family home, it was important to us that we find a place for her to live that she would be well cared for and have a good quality of life. After meeting with [name removed], we chose Carriage Hill because we felt confident that the services they provided would meet all of Mom's needs and we were not disappointed! Mom loved the attention she received from the staff as well as her sunny room that was very well maintained. She enjoyed time at the puzzle table, loved the food especially the breakfast that [name removed] prepared "just for her" and was always a willing participant in the daily social activities and weekly van rides for lunch, ice cream and shopping. I highly recommend Carriage Hill and urge you to call Sara and schedule a tour today!

When my mother entered her 90's, and needed assisted living care, my family rushed to what was reputedly "the best" and one of the most expensive options available in our state. A demanding woman who led a sophisticated life of travel and entertaining, she could be a hand-full when she was in the mood. To our surprise, our first option for her care was not a good fit, lonely, corporate, and cold, we made the decision to move her to Carriage Hill in Madbury, NH. A smaller, and more personalized community, we were simply astounded to see she experienced more direct and warm social contact in her first 24 hours at Carriage Hill than she had experienced in a full year at the larger, "name brand" corporate facility. So if you are looking for a warm, loving, family type atmosphere, combined with first class staff and care, where everyone is on a first name basis, put a tour of Carriage Hill on your list for your loved one. My family could not recommend them more highly.

From our first visit to Carriage Hill -- as soon as we walked through the door -- we felt welcomed. It felt right. Owner [name removed] greeted us and toured us around. She was warm and real. So was the staff. In the five months since, the only change has been a deepening of the warmth and caring for Mom and realness with her and the whole family. We liked the homey look of the place then and we still do. But what's most important to us is that Sara and her staff have made this home for Mom. They care. We see it and feel it every day. And we're so grateful.

I have been involved in the healthcare industry for over 4 years now. I have spent many hours at Carriage Hill. The owners go above and beyond to make the residence feel like home. I can't say enough good things about [name removed], she is always trying to help whether it is the residents, the staff or the community. Jason also goes above and beyond to make the residents happy. His warm, outgoing attitude is refreshing! If you are looking for a place for your relative, you must tour Carriage Hill.

The transition for my loved one was very easy and I think that the staff helped my loved one with this transition. It is nice to know that someone has an eye on her and I feel very comfortable with the decision I made for my loved one.

The facility is beautiful and very welcoming. The people we met were friendly and answered all our questions. The studio rooms are very roomy. Lots of activities scheduled for residents.

Our Mom just passed yesterday after almost 3 years at Carriage Hill. The level of care at Carriage Hill is priceless!! We could not have asked for better care than the the care she received. The whole organization at all levels is outstanding. They have 24 individual rooms and this is perfect. We thank them again for all the things they did for our mom!!

Although my mom would never say this to anyone there, her only complaint to me and my family is the food. It would be nice if there were 2 meals to choose from or if not a second meal choice, a substitute of a tuna sandwich instead of grilled cheese - not health. She also says they don't know hoe to cook somethings.

This is an outstanding facility with an exceptionally caring and competent staff. Everything is done to foster a homelike atmosphere. The owner is on-site and takes and active role ensuring all aspects are top notch. The place is small in size but big in heart. Residents are kept as bust as they choose to be. Family members are always welcome and invited to all special events. My father in law always referred to it as his "home" - a high compliment.

The administration is very attentive to the needs of the resident and their family members. The staff are kind, efficient and friend;y - again attentive to both the residents and their family members. The house itself is clean and sanitary. The health of the residents (+ the visitors) is of utmost importance. The kitchen staff are friendly and efficient and polite and kind.
