We chose Langdon Place of Dover because we were in the middle of a crisis and they had a ground floor apartment available with a back deck and they were happy with that. The apartment size that they have is really good. The staff members have been fairly good with communication, but I think it has just been a very stressful time and they have done the best that they can. We are very lucky we found this facility and that they are safe and I would recommend them.
My friend recently had a hip replacement and had a horrible experience at Langdon Place. I will NEVER, EVER allow her (or any other person I know) to get sentenced to a stay at this place. There are patients calling out for help and nobody ever comes to see what's the matter. They call out for their medication that was supposed to be given three hours ago and nobody comes. My friend was transferred to a different room after the first night of listening to her roommate crying for help all night, and then she started threatening my friend. The second room had NO BOTTOM SHEET & nobody came to help my friend who ended up using the top sheet on the bottom (making the bed with a 4 day old hip replacement). The food was disgusting. No menu ... you get what you get. Tepid coffee & tea. Breakfast one morning was two pieces of sausage. That's it. When she complained, they gave her five more pieces! An hour later they brought her two fried eggs. Dinner one night was a large scoop of macaroni & cheese with a small scoop of undrained stewed tomatoes. The tomato juice mixed in the with the mac & cheese. Disgusting. They hide the thing to call the nurse in the drawers that the old people can't reach! When another friend went to pick up my friend who was discharged, , she couldn't find ANYBODY IN THE PLACE to let them know that she was picking her up. Anybody could have walked in there and taken any of those old people without permission. They charged $12,000 for a two night stay.
My mom moved to Langdon Place one and a half years ago. The process to get her moved and settled was great. Her room and common areas are clean and modern and she has developed relationships with residents and the staff members. Having her there has given her four children comfort that she is being cared for. she is now settled in and considers Langdon Place her home. Thank You

Thank you so much for posting this Paul. We adore your mother and love having her here with us! Thank you for choosing Langdon Place of Dover for her!
We have been here for over a year and realize what a good choice we have made being here. We are very independent in our large apartment and are fully able to care for our selves but nursing staff is based within feet of our apartment if we need them. We have made many compatible and kind friends. Staff is efficient and willing to listen! It has been more than just a good experience and we are grateful! [Name removed] and [name removed]
Father was sent here for rehab. On the first day he got here I had to go look for some one to give him his meds and to set up his vac system. Then he never got dinner. We had to got out and get him food . Any time he needed a nurse they all would be standing around talking and would tell my family they would be right there . 1 1/2 hr later they would show up and acted like he was asking for there first born .
Back in early 2017, on the advice of our doctor and support of our children, daughter and son in law, my wife and I started to look for an independent/assisted living home. We looked at several but Langdon Place of Dover got and kept our attention. Why? THE STAFF!! An apartment is an apartment, a room is a room, etc., but the staff at Langdon Place of Dover makes this place!! If you can’t smile and have a positive attitude at all times, then you won’t work here. Why? The folks that live here!! It’s all here, medical problems, along with age. The need for a slow pace of living while at the same time someone is watching out for your welfare. Try pacifying over 100 folks at Langdon Place of Dover 24-7. It’s being done. And each and everyone here at Langdon Place of Dover has a smile on their face.

Howard and Anne- Our staff enjoy having you both with us! You are always so complimentary and pleasant. It is a pleasure to take care of both of you. I hope you are both with us for a really long time.
We like the care her for my father. The staff is always caring. We like knowing that he is in a safe environment and happy. The menu is very good and he likes the nice variety. The activates are very good for him to stay active with the other residents. We would highly recommend this community for the good care and value for other families and their loved one.

Was impressed with the knowledgeable staff and the care they could provide. Was disappointed in the conditions of the room and facility. Needs updating..but still a very nice place.

The building is 30 years old but is very well maintained. We are not the shiny new toy in town but many of our staff have been here 20+ years. We are now taking care of the third generations of some families which speaks to the quality of care our residents receive. Our staff work together as a well-oiled machine to ensure your loved ones receive top-notch quality of care which is at the top of the list for most people who tour and live here.
The staff at this community where very friendly to my loved one and I during our tour. They made sure to answer any questions we had for them and show us around the entire property. They had some great amenities available to the residents and everything was clean. The rooms where just to small for my mothers liking in the end decision.

Perhaps your budget precluded you from seeing some larger apartments, but we do have apartments (2 BR Large) with 2 baths, large full service kitchens and walk-in closets. We hope you found a place for your loved one that works. If you need anything, be sure to check back with us to see if something larger is available.
This looked like a nice clean community when we visited. The people I met were friendly. This is a larger community with three floors and I felt it would be to overwhelming for my loved one.

We appreciated your consideration. Sometimes a smaller community is what a resident prefers. With a variety of sized apartments, a pool/jacuzzi and onsite therapy, we check off many boxes for potential residents.
