So our loved one was only there for two weeks before she had passed, but the staff members there were very attentive towards our loved one. Based on the experience we had, we would recommend Allegro Richmond Heights to other families.

We give Allegro Richmond Heights the highest ratings in all categories. What we really like about the community is the staff, the management and the food is incredible. The people who work there love it and it shows. My mom is so happy there. Based on the experience we have had so far we would highly recommend this community to other families!

There were issues with the care staff that were never resolved. It was primarily around medicine distribution and establishing a routine around basic care. I admit part of the problem was due to staff shortage, which is understandable. We were especially impressed with how the administration and staff helped us through mom's final days. My sister or I were there around the clock, but they helped us with everything we asked for, and they were so sweet and caring.

The first week of Respite Care under the supervision of management went well. Things went downhill from there. Staff on the Memory Care floor were rarely at the nurses station & were often sitting around engaged in personal conversations,, regardless of the time or day. The tablecloth in the private room was extremely soiled. Clean & soiled clothes strewn all over the bed. Broken glass on the windowsill. Family noticed & made staff aware of a leak in the room Spoke to a nurse directly & was told things would be taken care of but it wasn’t. Had to have a guest ensure that the lack of cleanliness was taken care of. Received errant invoicing & additional money due for a two week stay after removing resident. Spent over $[removed] for this stay. Would not recommend this community & have shared this stay with medical professionals.

Response from Allegro Richmond Heights
September 23, 2022Mary, I am sorry to hear about your experience here at Allegro. I appreciate your feedback and taking the time to share it so that we can make changes moving forward. We hope that you will give us another try in the future.
I couldn’t think of a better and happier place for my mom to live than the Allegro. They have fantastic amenities available that mom enjoyed very much but what makes The Allegro such a special place are the staff. They are unsurpassed in the personal attention they give to each and every resident!! The staff in the dining room and kitchen made sure mom was taken care of so well she felt like a queen! I ate with mom several times and ALWAYS had a delicious meal…like over-the-top delicious!! The PT/OT office is incredible with the patience and care they give. It really made a huge difference in mom’s ability to enjoy life! The maintenance team always came with a smile on their faces and the office staff were such personable and professional members of this great team but, what I found the most amazing, was that every staff member knew each of the residents by name and that is indicative of what makes The Allegro such a great place to live!!! With Heartfelt Gratitude, Kay K

Response from Allegro Richmond Heights
June 17, 2022Hi Kay, we are so grateful for your kind words. Thanks for sharing your review with us and most of all, Thank you for sharing Mom with us here at Allegro!
This was a good community. This was not in an ideal location for our loved one.
We chose Allegro because I really liked the amount of space provided on the memory care floor. There is a lot of room for residents to walk around and the activity and dining room are nice and spacious. The rooms are beautiful as well. I also liked their pricing structure, there are no add on costs and everything is included in the monthly rent. They are having problems with getting employees just like everyone else is, but I did have a problem with them not changing my loved ones sheets on a regular basis. This is something I addressed with them and it has been fine since then, I think that it was due to not having enough staff. Overall I would absolutely recommend them to others.

In general the care is very good. The community doesn't have a good communication policy for internal communication and as well with the family. There is a hospital close by if necessary for the resident's to use.

Allegro has been a wonderful experience in numerous ways. First of all, the Allegro "Senior Living Advisors" do a magnificent job in explaining what Allegro is all about. Conducting tours of the building, and delimiting the critical items in the decision-making process when selecting a place to live. Allegro is a beautiful as well as properly maintained facility. In addition, the employees are always courteous and helpful and do their best to accommodate the residents' needs. Also, there are fun and educational outings to restaurants, exhibits, and scenic locations. And the resident can use the Allegro van or car to go to local stores and medical appointments. The resident always has a clean apartment at Allegro since housekeeping including laundry service are done regularly. To summarize, the people at Allegro are friendly, conversational, and make new residents feel right at home. One final opinion: the meals are excellent with lots of choices on the menu. The dining room has all-day dining from 7am to 7pm so you can eat when you want to!
i like everything
I miss my home, I guess if you can no longer be alone, this is a very good place to be. I think there are many activities, the food is great. What more could you want.
I recently became a resident of Allegro, an assisted living facility in Richmond Heights, MO. After checking out several facilities, I chose Allegro because of excellent reviews by residents regarding the staff, the residents, the meals, the activities, and of course the medical care. I have not been disappointed. The staff, led by [name removed], is top notch. [Name removed] has led me thru the movement out of my previous home and the move into Allegro. I don't know how I would have handled this by myself. I must also mention the excellent therapy staff, [name removed], [name removed], and [name removed]. I must admit not all has been perfect. It took a couple of weeks to get used to a new way of life. But now that I am settling in, I know I made the right choice.
Response from Allegro Richmond Heights
July 19, 2021Thank you so much for the positive feedback. We appreciate your kind words and are blessed you have chosen Allegro Richmond Heights as your new home
The public areas were kept very clean, but the individual house keeping was very poor. The director would definitely get a 5 stars, and the young gentlemen who did the activities on the memory care side would also get 5 stars. However, the day to day staff would get 2 stars at best. The meals and dining services was very poor, and the activities were very limited but that was due to all of the covid restrictions.

July 19, 2021Thank you for this feedback. These experiences do not represent the practices, policies or culture put in place at Allegro Richmond Heights. Please reach out to our home office at wecare@allegroliving.com so we can learn more about your experience(s) with our community and team of associates.
From the start, everything just felt right. We have not been disappointed. My dad started in assisted living a year and a half ago. His health has declined and is now in the memory care area. It has been a blessing to keep him in comfort and getting the services he needs during challenging times. There is a lot of trust in caring for an ageing parent; we cannot be there with him 24/7. Allegro has great staff, and many care partners who come on site to complement the basic services, so the place is active , responsive and vibrant. The visiting services I have noted include physical therapists, beauty, entertainment, etc. I like having outside partners bustling about because this provides a sort of self-checking system where the best staff thrive. Other facilities that run a more monolithic in-house system can work, but often create conflicts of interest and a feeling of being up-charged constantly for profit motive. Allegro is a set price at a great value.

July 19, 2021Thank you for your kind words Scott. It has been a pleasure having [name removed] with us as well as seeing you and family on a regular basis
I was under the impression we would have an orientation when we moved in and we missed that. The staff communicates well and we are keeping up to date on what's going on and they are easily reached when we question. The activities are more diverse than other communities we looked at. I would recommend this community to others

If there are care services your loved one needs, they will cost extra then what they provide. This is a newer community, and the rooms are very good they would be a five out of five. The food they serve would also be a five out of five.

A Place for Mom has scored Allegro Richmond Heights 9.1 out of 10 using our proprietary review score.
We assign review scores to give a more reliable view into senior living communities and home care agencies. Our review scores prioritize reviews that are recent — the past 24 months — because we know families need current information when choosing senior care.
Those with many recent, positive reviews receive a high review score, while providers with few recent reviews — regardless of how positive — receive a lower review score. Communities with no recent reviews will not have a review score, even if older reviews are positive. The maximum A Place for Mom review score a community can receive is 10 points.
