Public assistance is available through Medicaid 1915(c) waiver program–Virginia Alzheimer s Assisted Living. This type of community is required to offer a number of services. These include Assessing residents for whom restraints are in us, 24-hour supervision, Monitoring the community s medication management plan and infection control plans, and Promote a sense of security and self-worth. This community type has a number of provisions pertaining to medication assistance. These provisions include The community must have a medication management plan that is reviewed and approved by the Department., Residents may self-administer medications if they are capable, and a licensed health care professionall must annually review all residents medications. Staff are required to receive training in a variety of fields. These areas include Specific duties and requirements of their positions, reporting requirements, hand-washing techniques, standard precautions, and infection risk reduction behavior, and confidential treatment of personal information.
