Assisted living communities administer oversight, care, and social events to persons who are around 65 years of age or older. This type of community is required to offer a number of services. These include activities, medication administration, personal care, and intermittent nursing services. Staff members receive training in a number of fields. These include: securing emergency assistance, residents rights, job responsibilities, and community procedures. There must be one bath or shower for every 8 residents and one toilet for every 8 residents. There is a maximum occupancy of 4 residents per room. The minimum number of residents for this community type is 17. This community type has a number of provisions pertaining to medication assistance.
