We toured Miller Farm Place and it was a great virtual tour, they did a good job showing us all around. I was impressed with this facility but once they evaluated my mom, it took forever to get results back and then they told us she needed too much care.
I can't say enough about the staff here. Everybody works hard and is very caring and will help in any way they can to keep us happy. I mean this from my heart. They make me feel at home.
I had a virtual tour at Miller Farm Place. It's a medium sized facility, with a courtyard in the center and resident rooms on the exterior. Like another facility we looked at, it was one big circle, and I was worried my loved one would get confused. I felt like he needed a more direct, smaller place to go to. It was nice at Miller Farm, and I liked it, overall. The staff were fine. They were very friendly, but then everybody is friendly and happy when they want your money. There was nothing wrong that I saw here, I just never give anybody a perfect score since there's always room for improvement.
The people were very nice here but I felt like I was mislead. They misrepresented themselves with being able to care for residents with Alzheimer's. The staff members said they could care for him and they were completely unprepared. They told me that we would have to hire a sitter which would have costed us even more money. I think it would be a fine place for assisted living, but not for Alzheimer's residents.
We really liked it and it was smaller. The community was a little further than what we had liked. The rooms were bigger here.
My mother in law was at miller farm for about two years, until her passing. It was a wonderful place to call home. She liked to walk, so it was ideal with the way that it is set up for her to walk the halls in a nice square. It only has about 40 residents and so it has a very family type atmosphere. They receive three nice meals a day, with other snacks available. My mother in law said that the food was good and it always looked very appetizing. Until the virus hit , they had lots of entertainment. Encouraged family gatherings and parties. They would invite family members for a wonderful Thanksgiving dinner about a week before thanksgiving. They would have a Christmas party, with gifts for the residents. They have a truly caring and giving staff, I cannot tell you what a blessing they were to our family. Since residents were confined to their rooms a lot due to the virus, the staff would go and visit and spend time with them . Truly i cannot express how grateful i am for the care and love that was shown my family member. i would highly recommend miller farm to anyone that needs this type of assistance. thank you all at miller farm
We did a zoom chat. The facility is not much to see on the outside. The building is a square with continuous hallway and a beautiful outdoor courtyard in the middle. The courtyard is only accessable from inside the building. It is very small with only 42 units. My mother liked this facility, it was her second choice.
Did assessment and mom was a level 5 health care ($2766) Studio ($2036). $4829/month but transportation to dialysis is a problem. Call them back to see if it was just the early time. Transportation is only available on Tues & Thurs. [Name removed] recommended looking into RTA Paratransit for transportation. Took Virtual tour with [name removed] and the place is nice no real bells and whistles and only has a capacity of 41 residents. Would probably provide better response times to needs because of smaller resident population. Close to [name removed] and dialysis.
We love Miller Farm for our family member. It is a great value. If you aren't looking for all the extras stuff that most seniors don't want anyways, then this is the place for you. It is more like home. If we want to take them out, we just let them know and sign out. It's that easy. Meals are great. Place is super clean. We have been very happy.
Kind, considerate staff provided an informative tour and an assessment for Dad that was convenient and very insightful. We appreciated [name removed] and her thoughtfulness. She was a ray of light during this difficult situation of moving to an Assisted Living Facility and making hard choices. We appreciated her professional care.
