Assisted living communities usually offer support with daily activities, opportunities for social activity, and help with transit and appointments. This screening includes a number of areas of interest such as evaluation by a health care practitioner is required and changes must be made to the resident’s service plan if there is an assessment score change in any way, a comprehensive mental and physical assessment, treatment requirements, and assessed on psychiatric conditions. This type of community is required to have a staff member on duty 24 hours a day. There must be one toilet for every 1 residents and one bath or shower for every 1 residents. a licensed nutritionist or licensed dietician must review menus on a 4- week cycle for nutritional quality programs must also provide special diets as ordered by a physician or needed by residents This type of community is required to offer a number of services. These include occasional assistance in accessing social and recreational services, monitoring and management of occasional psychological or psychiatric episodes or fluctuations that require uncomplicated intervention or support, supervision or occasional assistance with two or more activities of daily living, and assistance with self-administration of medications. This community has a number of provisions concerning food and diet which include meals must be well-balanced, meals must be of sufficient quantity and quality to meet daily nutritional needs, programs must provide three meals a day and snacks, and meals must be properly prepared. This community type has a number of provisions pertaining to medication assistance. These provisions include reminders to take medications, staff who have passed a Board of nursing program may administer medications, and medication administration.
