Tour of Sunrise

The memory care unit was on a high floor and it was a very closed off unit.

It's been wonderful to find a place that would help me as well as help my loved one.

I would tell other families to try them out. Compared to the place my loved one was at before, Sunrise is 100 times better. They've been very helpful. They take good care of him, and they help me with transportation when he has to have a doctor's appointment. Really my biggest frustration has been every time I have to contact somebody, that person has left and now there's somebody new. That's been mostly with the nurses. But they've made good replacements.

Tour of Sunrise

We toured Sunrise of Pikesville and I loved this facility we just could not afford it although we tried 3 different times to get the price where we needed it. It is a bigger community with more people and we were looking during covid so I think it would have been harder to manage the virus there.

Beyond my Expectations

They were excellent when it came to evaluating my loved one's needs when he moved in there, and getting him the things he needs regarding equipment and assistance. They were excellent beyond my expectations. His caregivers make sure he's clean and shaven and dressed. I do think that they need more help. The ones they have are working hard, but they need more coverage, just a better ratio of staff to residents. Everything is always clean - the entryway, the hallways, my loved one's room and bathroom. Floors are well swept, sink areas are clean, and all is nicely kept, including the outdoor space as well. Right now I'm only allowed to see him once a week. Since I'm fully vaccinated, I can visit in his room. If others aren't vaccinated, there are designated spots where they can visit. Again, the caregivers are very helpful with visits, and make sure he's dressed appropriately and has a jacket on if we're visiting outside. They do a great job attending to his needs.

It was a good experience

Our experience was brief but they did a great job, the care services were good and we have no complaints about Sunrise. Our loved one never complained about the meals, and they still tried to do some activities with him the best they could but he was borderline hospice. The value and price was right along with the other communities in the area.

Sunshine is Sunrise!

The staff members at the community are very friendly. We spoke with other individuals living there and they had no complaints, they really have a good track record. They have done a tremendous job during this time with COVID and the few cases they have had, have been completely resolved. We have been very pleased. Before COVID they had a lot of activities, and the event coordinator really did a lot of with the residents. They would take them out to restaurants for lunch on Tuesday's, they also have arts and crafts. They would bring in live entertainment and provide religious services.

A good place for your loved one

I would recommend this community. I liked the cleanliness of this community, the nurses and aides were nice. The community did have a lot of activities for the residents and the residents were friendly. The food was good, as well. The community's only downfall is that there is a miscommunication between hospice and the community. I would recommend that you know where hospice and community stands for the overall care of your loved one. The community is good for senior living.

We really enjoyed meeting with [name removed] and feel like Sunrise would provide a better level of care than Brightview Rolling Hills. We felt that the spaces reserved for memory care residents was more of a retrofit. The personal rooms were larger than what these people need and all had kitchenettes, which our mom doesn't need/use. The common areas seemed dark, and we didn't see many aides interacting with the residents. There were lots of little sensory areas, but those seemed like catch-alls for cleaning equipment, lifts, walkers, etc. We saw no one using any of those spaces.

Review of Sunrise of Pikesville

I've lived here for about 4 years now and considering Baltimore's history I have 0 complaints. I have great access to stores and public transportation. Those are my two main issues that's on my gotta have list for moving.

The mind care here seemed very good. A very positive & friendly environment. Everyone was out of their rooms socializing & it had a good vibe.

Dad's still independent

This is a very nice assisted living community, and the staff did a very good job with our tour, they took their time showing us around and answering our questions. We just felt that dad with still too independent and did not need the assisted living as of yet. We do have a relative that we are looking to bring here where the assisted living would work well for them. I would recommend taking a tour to see for yourself.

Loved this place, their stay requirements for respite were a little longer than we wanted. My favorite was the resident dog 'Lil Janie' I believe. This place had a few more options to offer, just a little out of our budget at the time. Great energy, smiling faces, many residents moving through the facility. (I visited just after the lunch hour)

Not the right fit..

I'm sure Sunrise is perfect for some people, but to me, it was too kind of generic. I was not very impressed with them. Everyone there was friendly and helpful, but it was not what I was looking for.

I haven't really been impressed or disappointed

I think it's fine. I would give it about four stars. Its average. I haven't really been impress or disappointed by anything yet. It's about what we expected it would be.

Worth taking a tour.

The Sunrise of Pikesville is a very nice community and is very well kept. It is kept very clean and tidy throughout. The community offers many activities for the residents to partake in and enjoy. They did not have a room available when we needed one.

This Community Is Far From Me

My tour went very good here. It was a brief tour but they did a good job with the tour. The place is a bit older but overall it is a good place. My thoughts about choosing this place lead me to notice that it is too far for me.
