Oregon is located on the West Coast in the heart of the Pacific Northwest. Oregon is nicknamed the “Beaver State,” due to the large number of the animals that called the state home when the fur traders and pioneers first arrived. Oregon is a pacific playground with over 360 miles of beaches and more than 30 million acres of forest. Its larger cities like Portland and the college town of Eugene are vibrant and eclectic places with plenty of activity. Oregon’s majestic natural beauty combined with its relatively mild temperatures make the state a great place to call home and a wonderful location to retire.
Currently, A Place for Mom partners with more than 190 senior living communities in Oregon that provide memory care. The median monthly cost of memory care in Oregon is about $5,900.
I come to Lakeview frequently and I always have a positive experience. My grandma moved in 6 months ago and loved all her new friends and the fun activities!
They seem to treat their residents very well. Otherwise I didn't have that much time for interaction so I don't have much to contribute.
Frankly, we rate all of these categories at 5. Our experiences with Canfield Place have been great. The staff are friendly, helpful, and caring. They pay attention to the residents, even when they are not...
I would give them all a 4 because it's not home and that would be a 5. The only one I would down grade would be food. at would be a three because she is diabetic and needs mechanical soft food because of...
There are a lot of activity options, the residents all seem happy, and staff is friendly. Based on the experience we have had, we would recommend Russellville Park to other families who may need a place for...
The assisted living facility where dad had been living for 2 years 1/2 years was no longer able to provide the care dad needs. He was in the hospital and we had an immediate need of a place to move him. ...
Near the end of Dad's life and he was in hospice, they changed us extra for moving him in his bed to prevent bed sores. My sister is a doctor and when she visited him, she remarked that he had never been...
My dad entered memory care at Morning Star in 2023. Either my mom or I was with him daily. So we spent many hours there. Morning Star is a beautiful facility. It looks clean and smells clean. However, it...
Staff friendliness was rated lower due to some staff who sat and on their phones, chewing gum (one of my pet peeves) and not interacting with the residents. I think more supervision by making rounds...
My Mom is very happy there. I have walked into her room when a staff person was changing Mom's Depends and the 2 of them were laughing and having a great time. My Dad died there on [date removed] and the...
Couldn't ask for better care! The entire experience was top notch. From the nurses, med techs. Executive Director, Sale and everyone was so welcoming and helpful from start to finish. My loved one was taken...
Finding the right place for my wife’s parents was important to me since I have seen a lot of good and bad care facilities as a paramedic. Southern Hills is always clean and doesn’t seem to have that...
Despite their appearance, the staff appeared very friendly and helpful to my father. Tattoos, died hair, piercings, and general "punk" appearance of staff (not including sales or management) was concerning...
When our family faced that my dad needed a level of care that was not possible for us to deliver at home, I began to search, and research, in earnest. I toured, interviewed, compared, read reviews and...
My Mom was a resident at Emerald Valley for 1 1/2 years. They have great and caring staff. My Mom didn't like to go out of her room often, but the staff happily came to her. She wouldn't go to many...
In Oregon, the Office of Safety, Oversight, and Quality within the Oregon Department of Human Services licenses and regulates memory care facilities.
