...listen with your eyes, stay involved. -not all employees are meant to work with helpless elderly
The memory unit staff were angry about life. Their bitterness could be felt and seen on their faces. They appeared put-out by every request, cold as ice, impatient & resentful of even walking up the hallway to open the locked door to let in visitors . Very few exceptions. I believe most folks like myself held back words many times wanting to avoid even the possibility of retribution. So you're loved one, whether they know it or not is treated less kind than they would ever have wanted. Not assaultive, but cold, rude and hateful. I was fortunate to be able to visit every day to every other day at a variety of times & with no predictability.
As far as the business end- Before I signed on the dotted line I confirmed Silver Creek would exchange any necessary info with the insurance company with whom my folks had an assisted living insurance policy for which they paid each month for 20 years. What they didn't tell me at that time was that their licensure had expired two months before my mom's arrival. Insurance companies require licensed facilities. Though Covid set inspections back which is understandable, it was very difficult to get Silver Creek to discuss their lack of licensing with her ins. Co. I finally got the claim completed two weeks ago and it took an entire year, many trips to find & speak with management, phone calls to the state licensure oversight folks, and a personal visit to the insurance company.

Would not recommend
My brother passed late February and what with hospitalizations and PT he hardly used the facility. But what experience we/he had I would not choose Silver Creek and would not recommend it.
It is Imperative to match the physical/ medical / mental condition of the prospective resident to what the facility can actually provide.

They indicated that they could take care of my mother as her health deteriorated, but when she had emergency GI surgery and had a colonoscopy bag they refused to take her back. We had to then scrambled to find a skilled nursing facility.

Silver Creek Review
I wouldn't recommend this place at all.
Staff is always a challenge to find. Doesn't return calls No-one to communicate with for any problems. The facility is beautiful but everything they tell you when looking there is absolutely not true. They don't care about the residents they don't check on them no one talks to the residents or helps them with anything.
My mother passed and was in the hospital for 10 days, not one person contacted me to see how she was and it took 3 days after her death of me calling to let them know. I had to physically go in and just walk into the business administrator office because I couldn't get a phone call back to set up an appointment. Still haven't gotten a call and it's been since the [date removed].

Our family had an in person tour experience with Silver Creek, and it was definitely our 2nd choice we liked all we saw, but Dad had already had his heart set on the new location. The rooms were a bit smaller and the location of his room he would not have been happy.

Great Facility for family
My loved one is a resident at Silver Creek. The staff members are great. They're warm, friendly and courteous. The facility is clean and very warm and nicely decorated. The move in was pretty good. We moved our loved one in slowly, as our loved one was in the hospital during that time. I would have liked to see more time spent with her on move in day. The food is delicious. They have a good selection. Food is available from 7am to 6pm. The hairdresser is good. I would recommend this facility to others.

A nice facility
It is a nice facility. Staff was good and they answered my moms call bell in a timely manner. My mom liked most of the meals. Always understaffed, but that seems to be the problem everywhere.

A Warm & Caring Environment for Mom
The overall care my parents have received has been great. There could be more varied activities and little things provided in dining room like condiments, etc. But the most important thing is the care your loved one receives there. That has been top notch even though Silver Creek has had staffing issues since the pandemic.

A Very Good Place To Consider
If you can afford it, it's a great place to put your loved one. My loved ones enjoyed the activities that were offered but I feel they should offer more activities. There didn't seem to be enough day to day activities, especially in the memory care area. They enjoyed the food but there was not a consistent kitchen staff to know what each resident needed during meal times. It seemed when we visited, they didn't remember simple things like extra napkins during meals, etc.

A Great Caring Place To Recover or Reside For Your Loved One
They are very caring, very responsive and overall a great comfortable place. The residents have lots of options for meals. The activities offered come in a wide variety of things such as movie nights, exercise class, and a bus trip to site see local areas. They do a lot of presentations for the residents to go visit. My loved one truly enjoys that aspect.

Wish communication was more assertive, but comfortable nevertheless.
The overall staff is very friendly and pretty attentive. My biggest concern is the medical attention. My loved one is in the independent living side. And although they do say that they have 24-hour nursing on-site, they outsource the physicians. The person that comes in to see my loved one is a PA (physicians assistant), and they've switched the PAs. Although there is a portal for families to access medical information, the PA does not regularly keep up on it. So I feel like I have to chase them to find out medical information, which is upsetting. You place a loved one believing they're going to get the right medical care. You don't just want them to have friends. You want them to be well cared for. And they aren't forthcoming in the manner I would have hoped. That being said, if I do put in calls to find out the information, they are receptive and do follow through. My loved one is getting three square meals a day, and they do her laundry. The other residents are friendly, and she has made friends. And ultimately I do feel comfortable that she is being cared for.

a great home for the elderly
The community was very good with activities and had fun events including music and exercise. The community is private pay only. The community has some services that come in and help out as a stylist. The food was great and they will make meals based on your diet. The community was open to feedback and took care of issues very quickly. I would recommend this community to others based on my experience.

Horrifying Experience for Myself and My Loved One at Silver Creek
The staff didn't clean up glass in my loved one's room. There were shampoo, and other toiletries all over the place. What we were told by the marketing team didn't happen.
I was unhappy with Silver Creek. I would never put my loved one in the community again. I'm not sure how the staff weren't paying attention to my loved one.
The food was all carbs.
