Petersburg Home For Ladies

For more than three generations we have been the preferred residence for women 65 and older who live in the cities of Petersburg, Hopewell, and Colonial Heights as well as the counties of Dinwiddie, Prince George, Chesterfield, and beyond. Why are we so highly regarded? Because our licensed residential and assisted living facility offers a level of service and care unequalled in our region. The Petersburg Home for Ladies takes pride in providing the highest ratio of staff to residents in Central Virginia. This allows us to give our residents the care and attention they need and the extra pampering they want.

The Petersburg Home for Ladies is home to 47 residents. Many ladies maintain their total independence throughout their stay at the Home. If a resident needs assistance at a higher level, however, the Home offers increasing levels of assisted living care at an increased monthly fee.

Licensed as an assisted living facility, the Home nursing staff is trained to help residents, when needed, with their activities of daily living including bathing and dressing. Staff also assist with medication management.

Many of our Ladies bring their own cars to the Home and continue to pursue the community activities they have participated in all their adult lives, attending their own churches, garden club meetings, and exercising at the local YMCA. For those unable to go for a morning or afternoon out on their own, the Home provides a full schedule of activities. A resident may participate in fashion shows and sales, pizza parties, pet visits, and musical concerts. The Home also has a small bus that carries residents to theater performances, restaurants, museum exhibitions, and local malls.

Personal attention and special care are hallmarks of the Petersburg Home for Ladies. Staff turnover is exceptionally low. As a result, we maintain a high level of professionalism and service. Staff members and our residents often enjoy warm relationships which enhance our residents' quality of life.
