Blessed we found Parkside Estates when we did!
We admitted our mother to Parkside last year and were nervous as she came directly from home to a community. We toured several facilities and felt the home atmosphere and staff was a perfect fit for mom. As it turned out it was a blessing as we hear stories from other families having difficulties with their transitions into assisted living with their loved ones. The transition and on-going care has been top notch and we are greatful that we found Parkside Estates when we did. Highly recommend this facility from admission till the final days.

I would NOT send my worst enemy to Parkside. Unprofessional, worker/owner was under the influence when I walked in. Residents were left soiled and not fed. I personally called the Trenton PD and the State. I hope for the sake of anyone needing care they seek ANY other place. Don’t get me wrong, there were SOME caring employees. But the owner is a real piece of work. And I’m being VERY politically correct with that statement. The State issued many violations and they were not corrected. Last I heard Parkside was shut down but the owner is a snake oil salesman. He finds ways around the system. Changes names of business, moves into others names etc. DO NOT walk away from Parkside, RUN and don’t look back. I gave it 1 star only because there wasn’t negative stars.

Mother Loved it here
Our Mother was very nervous about the transition to an assisted living facility but we were grateful to stumble on Parkside. They eased her anxiety and both the staff and owner were very comforting. Her final years there really put our minds at ease and the environment was always clean and updated year after year. We would recommend anyone to visit the small group living arrangement at Parkside and feel your family will have a similar experience with this very difficult decision.

Years of exception service to dad
We had our father at Parkside Estates for years and had a wonderful experience. They had a very attentive and well trained staff with very proactive ideas on a care plan for our father. The entire home is beautiful and was always neat and clean during our visits. They also catered to our meal and furnishing requests very quickly. The owner were very approachable and had a sincere quality about the care within the home. The entire experience made us very grateful that we found this facility when we did and our father had an enjoyable and quality end of life. We would encourage anyone to trust this facility with their loved ones.

Review of Parkside Estates
Stay away, the owners refuse to fix things around the house in a timely manner if at all. The has two bathrooms, one was out of order and they owners wouldn't fix it until they got home from vacation 4 days later, the ice maker on the frig has been broken for over 3 years and no resident gets ice and any drink or water to keep it cold. I had to buy my Mom her own ice and cups with lids so she wouldn't spill her drink, they only provide regular glass glasses. The power went out and the owner would not bring any kind of battery powered lights/flash lights he said he wanted to see how long the power would be out. My mom and another women were on hospice and had special air mattresses which went complete flat and she was laying on the frame, after over an hour and many phone calls he finally came and started up the generator outside the garage door, ran extension cords through the back door down the hallway to my Mom's room and the other women's rooms the wind from the storm blew the fumes from the generator all through the house, when we complained he said there was nothing he could do. To the staff not to plug anything else in and still refused to bring anything lights of any kind. He said it was dark enough, it was a thunderstorm and in the evening, The hallways were dark and a man elderly wife tripped on the cords and almost fell. The owner was notified of the tripping and he said there was enough light in the house with the little lights that were built in to electric plug outlets in each room, it was like trying to use a glow in the dark sticker. The night my Mom was bleeding out I was asked to bring dark sheets and towels because they couldn't do laundry because the dryer was broke and the owner hand them staff hanging clothes on the clothes line in the basement even though he had a perfectly good dryer in the garage and all he had to do was hook it up.Every complaint was met with an excuse, no ice because staff didn't write it on the grocery list, so we did, he brought a frozen burned zip lock gallon bag of ice from his house. Promised to keep Mom favorite cookies, juice, and fruit cups in the house, staff and I wrote them on the list many time, only bought the cookies. There are only 3 women that work almost every shift, they are stressed out and tired, the are not treat well buy the owners and are afraid to ask for help. One night the whole house 6 residents all got sick after eating dinner, owner does all cooking, they all got diarrhea, the girl working spent hours cleaning everyone up. She didn't make dinner at 5, after 6pm a residents daughter came in and found they hadn't been fed so she went out and bought everyone pizza. When I asked the owner about this, she said Oh the so and so didn't mind picking up pizza. I said that isn't the point, what if the daughter didn't come, your worker was afraid to call you for help, when would the residents have eaten. She just blew it off and said oh it was fine. This one poor man who is still probably a resident, didn't have dementia like the rest, he was almost blind, the staff depended on him to keep an eye on all the residents in the living room while they fed the bedridden, cooked dinner, gave bathroom breaks, etc. It was really sad, if it wasn't for him I have no idea what the staff would have done?

Stay away from this place.
They promise you everything when you move in and don't follow up on any of it. They are very cheap and don't fix things that are broken. Their ice maker hasn't worked in over 3 years, so no one in the house gets ice. The power goes out they run a generator outside by the garage and the whole house smells of fumes, then they run the cords all over the floor for people to trip on. They have three main women who work most of the hours and they are totally stressed out and are unhappy there. They let residents roam around the backyard where this is a pond with no supervision. They have a bath and a half, they half bath toilet was clogged and the owners were on vacation, they didn't get if fix for 4 to 5 days until they came back. One resident had to go to the bathroom while another was taking a shower in the only working bathroom, they gentlemen was told to go and sit down and just wait. It was an awful experience and I don't recommend this place to anyone.

Very nice place!
We visited this community while looking into senior living options in the area. I was very impressed by what they had to offer at Parkside Estates! The facility itself was well kept and clean, and even had a pleasant clean linen smell. The staff were friendly and helpful, and the manager was readily available to answer any questions we had. They are definitely worth a look if you are searching for options in the Trenton area!

Terrific Staff
The caregivers at this residents couldn't be better. My mother was not an easy person to take care of but they did it extremely well. I did give a lower score on activities, but to be fair, most residents in this home were not able to join in activities so that makes it difficult to have group activities. The staff there were just wonderful and I can't say enough good things about them. I would highly recommend this home to anyone looking for great care for their loved one.
