All around, not a great place. Go with personal experience, not advertising gimmicks. Memory care worst on earth. After several trips to [facility name removed], surprised visits to CK things out...moved there. A WORLD of difference. Never will recommend MP...ever. Oh my goodness, CLEAN, so clean, and fresh food.

Wonderful, Christian-based Community
This is a wonderful community with a fantastic vision for the future of senior care. This is one of few owner-operator companies in the industry and I will say, they know what they are doing! They team is amazing and truly care for the residents each and every day!

I love this place and so does my mother!!! They keep moms mind working on the lantern. There has been some staffing change in the past year but has not been an issue from us. My mom is higher functioning and can let us know what’s going on. She loves the staff and the activities. One family member has tried to engage in conversation several times asking if I would contact corporate with her with concerns. This lady is definitely persistent lol. I have told her that we are 100% satisfied with morning pointe and if I contacted them it would only be for praises. She asked about missing items, communication, and talked about the aids being too young. All of these recent posts sure sound like her. Please don’t let one person smear the name of this place. Trust and find out for yourself. You won’t be disappointed

Not impressed.
Not impressed after seeing and hearing (in person) what other families experience. One lost a parent due to dehydration. I don't need or want what they've gone through. 2 other places very highly recommend, with best reviews. I'll keep looking.

You don't want to live here.
Try Sayre Christian Village or Preston Greens. The staff, cleanliness, mood, just 100 percent better. You'll get many excuses at Morning Pointe and no one stays. No communication between staff. None. So much better, and cleaner at Sayre and Preston's Greens. Great communication. Difference is like night and day.

I would like to thank the staff and the management for their hard work and compassionate care of my mother. It is never easy to trust someone else to care for your loved ones. They try very hard to make my mother feel at home, make her smile, and tailor her experience to meet her specific needs. If we ever have a concern or problem and tell the staff and management team, they address are concerns or problems immediately. Thank you so much.

Attitudes.
Today, in the middle of a covid-19 pandemic, I went by Morning Pointe to pick up relatives clothing to be laundered. I called 15 minutes ahead of time as we're supposed to to let them know on the way so things could be ready. 2 girls come to door after waiting, quite a while, was there for almost 35 minutes! An Aid and head nurse walked by me while I was there waiting. I mentioned to Aid and head nurse. Between the four of them they could not get their act together. No one at front desk. I don't know what's so hard about picking up a laundry basket and walking it to the front door. I finally gave up and went to the car and called them, said I will be back in a few days. I'm there purposely between breakfast and lunch a non busy time. That's when they tell me, "well,we're on our way out now." So I drove back. I had also asked for my mom's toothpaste and mouthwash. They forgot to put that in the basket. So again I had to wait for the head nurse to go back and get. She asked a lot of questions of why I wanted it. I explained I had a good reason. I had switched out her type of toothpaste that I want her to use. She very snooty made snide remarks, and she said, I suppose your good reason is to put bad review online and bad photos. Honestly no... I was switching out her toothpaste for cavity prevention one instead of a whitening one. This head nurse is supposed to be a professional, and in management. Not professional acting at all. I'm really surprised how she takes her job so lightly with the public. I am almost 70 years old and have children older than she is and I cannot believe my ears of how badly she treats us older ones. If you're old enough to understand how bad she's treating us, I wonder how bad she treats the ones we have in memory care. Quite a few families are moving out this summer. We are one of them. When I have mentioned to other facilities things that go on at M.P. I'm told it's all " totally unacceptable and not professional." 3 directors too in 1 year. No leadership. I use to teach school....now in business financing, If one of my employees treated a client like this, fired! We are clients, and our business makes it possible for them to have a job. Maybe someone should teach them this very thing. I've noticed also they be removed their surveillance sign at the front door saying it's under surveillance 24/7. I took photo of sign as proof saying they have surveillance. I've called them out all this, needing them to bring up tapes to prove things. They never did have surveillance cameras, so now they remove their sign. Keep in mind, there is no security cameras if needed at this facility. Employees can act anyway they want. Be mindful of this.

Many leaving Morning Point for care elsewhere.
This is the absolute worst. All I can say, what you don't see behind closed doors at the memory unit you really don't want to see. From Bugs, people just sitting on the couch watching TV absolutely very little activity, not getting outside often, generally only two aides per shift which is not enough for almost eighteen people, at times, poop on the floor, pee on the floor, the place smells like a barn and they only replaced a patch of the carpet and not the entire halls over there, the director does not make two or three visits per day on that side to make sure residents are kept active. It is a very sad situation and I know of three people who are moving. They've had three executive directors and less than a year which shows there is no direction. And talk with so few other families in the parking lot they are very upset with morning quite also and considering leaving this summer. The director is not very good, and the nursing staff at times leaves a lot to be desired. They've had (I've heard) close to 100 nurses come and gone through Morning Pointe East. One residents family is leaving due to the fact they never make her mother's bed, and if they do it is the poorest job she's ever seen and has to remake it herself daily. Snacks are usually cookies, when we feel they should have some fresh fruit. But as one gentleman said, it's the cheaper route. It's like replacing only a small portion of the carpet instead of doing the entire hallway. Another residents family told us and showed pictures of lights out, bathroom bulb not working, fan not working in the bathroom, and the dirty greasy fan in the bathroom that has not been clean probably since the day the building's been built. It was sickening and we imagined had had bugs in it too. Somehow, the nurses, aides, nor the director ever notices anything like this. She said she had to notify corporate in Tennessee to get something done. We are making arrangements to get her out of there. When I show the doctors some of these photos and tell them the stories their exact words are " get her out of there." What goes on when you're not there it's terrible at times. Someone told me that their mothers being put to bed in the winter time with no bottoms on. She's very cold at night and they don't even dress her because it's easier on the aids not to dress someone fully. You pay for the "care." Aids are young for most part. 19-20 yrs old. If you move your loved one here, you will be moving them again within the next year having difficulties with the executive director, aids to nurses. Unfortunately several the families had to learn the hard way and are leaving this spring/ summer. Most going to Highgrove on Saron Dr. What a difference in care and the smell! One other thing to remember, several have lost clothing items from sheets to pajamas, slacks. Men I've been told lost sweat pants and jackets. Socks to t shirts. Families been told that when they think something is deemed unwashable , M.P. throws your loved ones items away. Even if brand new. So be careful, you will be replacing a lot of clothing and or sheets each month like these others have too.

Keeping going and look elsewhere.
The absolute worst. Nurses do not make sure memory care clients swallow meds. Been in my parents room early AM. On 3 occasions a pill half dissolved in sink, another time one pill, half under bed and one rolled under closet door and came to rest by clothing basket on floor. Common sense washing face and brushing teeth 2X's daily...not done daily. She's had 5 cavities in 10 months. Not a cavity for 8 years until went to M.P. Twice, men sitting on chair by old dining table where there is one blue cloth seat chair. With urine...just sitting there and smelled. Families sit in that chair for meals with a family member. Don't sit there. Aids sit on sofas with knees pulled up under their chin...so bottoms of feet in sofa. Your family member sits on those sofas, touches cushions and whatever was on bottoms if their shoes. Then may rub their eyes at touch their mouth. How unsanitary! Activities not happened in many months that are on calendar. If I bring it up, get upset with me and they say, " there's only 2 of us, so we can't do activities." So...they sit in front if TV all day on week ends. No mind stimulation. I was in last week...to see " coupon cutting club." Family member only one doing it....aid looked bored....and her idea of coupons was a Kohls ad...having mom just cut along lines. We pay money for this?? No Sunday paper coupons? How about checkers or scrabnle? Aids too young and don't want to play games. 2 sets of sheets missing...3 pairs if PJs and towels, socks and slacks. Others missing a queen bottom sheet...a sweater, towels and sweat pants, may be more not heard about. Everyone has things missing. Tell me they "do everyone's laundry separately"., then returned to room. If true....wheres people's clothing and items? One director told me they throw clothing and items away if " deemed not washable." So be careful, they throw your items away. I had new towels ( 2 were brand new) and 3 Pjs thrown out. Another lady lost her blue and white bottom PJs. They were fairly new for winter. If you bring concerns to management, they say, "well, I've not heard anything about that". That exact sentence has been told to me many times. They must be trained to say that. Should be trained to say, "let me look into this and get right back to you." No help, concern, empathy. They make sure they get your money 1st of every month though. They take but don't give. On week ends sit them every week end in front of the " Hey hey We're The Monkeys" T V show. Really?? How about a Doris Day movie. Something from their generation. One residents family told me on a week end, and I quote, " This place is a joke." What you see when you first walk in, fresh air since door right there, nice furniture with no aids feet on them, sparkly chandeliers....just go behind closed locked door. At times smells like a barn, no fresh air...and no stimulation. If you put one in PC...they may end up over there months down the road if need extra help. Very sad. I complained enough, they finally got new carpet for HALF the hallway. Didn't do it all. Chemicals they were spray g to deter odors didn't work so had to replace. It truly smelled like a barn. I had to complain so much about common sense care it is unreal. I am just brushed off. Several moving out in spring when weather warms up. ( I've heard but don't know for sure) to Highgrove on Saron Dr across from Krogers on Tates Creek as they have older and more mature aids and so much nicer and cleaner and activities daily for their minds. Several I know, leaving going to new facility across from Costco and 2 friends leaving Richmond Place to go there. You get locked into lower rate for a couple years, rhythmic lighting for better sleep, larger rooms, full size movie theater, all day activities for memory care, and outdoor Garden that is safely in closed where they could be outside and not stuck inside, parking close and not taken by employees, plus your first 6 visits to beauty shop for anything needing done is free. Perm to haircut. It's clean!!! I plan to check it and 2 others out. I called corporate in Dec to talk to [name removed]. Said he'd call back. I had 2 major operations in Dec and day he called, I literally was just helped in from hospital to sit down. Phone rang. It was [name removed]. He said he'd "call me next day....." I needed to rest. Guess what. He never did call back. No care. I was texted by director while in hospital I needed to get in for mom's quartly or whatever it's called....mtg. I am in hospital bed, and with exclamation points telling I HAD to get in. I explained in hospital. Nurse at my bedside taking vitals. I read her text to her. She asked, " who are these people?" Then asked if she was a nurse. I said " heaven's no. She's a director." She just replied " thank goodness" After home, I was in Ohio every week with someone in hospice. I came home late Friday and went back Sunday night.....for weeks. Again, texting me I HAD" to get in. I offered a phone conference, to coming in on week end to sit down and go over mom's care. She didn't want to be put out....refused. No compassion. Glad she's not a nurse. She's in business. Had to be on her terms Mon through Friday, reg hours. Absolutely no compassion. Best friend died last Saturday, but I had to drive 3.5 hours in for a conference, couple weeks before she passed away. So, if you are snowbirds for months, or on extended vacation or helping someone in another state....you will be made to fly, drive back for your mtgs. Something to thing about. Plan your vacations around MP schedule. My neighbors are snowbirds. He was glad to know this. Looking for place for elderly aunt. He went with Preston Greens by Costco. Just put down deposit. Keep looking, ask allot of questions and always take photos of something wrong as proof. Just can't take pics of other people's faces due to hippa law.... Years ago, might have got nice reviews but as someone who left there said, " I saw where MP was heading so I got out." ( quote) 3 directors in 7 months in main PC area..., no director for months on Lantern side... they don't know how to fix this place. You pay for lack of leadership. I have so many photos of urine, poo in hallway...dirty greasy vents, and fans non working, light bulbs out in bathroom, floor plastic molding sticking out for TWO WEEKS, until I personally reported it...nothing gets fixed. You have to do their job for them. Aids too young to notice these things. Some are only 19 years old.. Wet briefs left in bath room trash cans, dust under beds, ants crawling on table with food, dirty sock in fruit basket, missing top sheet when bed made sometimes...or bottom sheet improperally put on. Clothes thrown BACK into closet instead if in basket, and on floor. If you are not there daily to keep eye on things, you do not get what you pay for. Keep that in mind. Very sad at MP. When others concerned like I am, it's time to look around. I

My mother has been living in the memory care unit for a year now. Originally from personal care side. It started out great, now I think personally it’s struggling due to being low staffed. I hope they figure things out because I would hate to leave our Morning Pointe family!

Compassionate care in a home-like setting.
I began looking for a memory care facility for my mother. After researching many facilities near my home, I narrowed my choice to 3 facilities. I decided Morning Pointe Lexington East based on the following: the ratio of aides to residents, the activities provided, and the actual nurse on site in place 24/7. Moving my mother at an early age is the hardest thing I have ever had to do. The activities are stimulating in the memory care. The aides are outstanding. The memory care director really cares about the people she is caring for and would inform me daily about how my mother was doing- the director was always willing to discuss issues with me, and there is a monthly support group meeting for families. She has also worked with me to make the transition as smooth as possible. My mother had Lewy Body disease with bad hallucations. The memory care have been so patient with her. The staff is very professional and have helped her immensely. I was very happy with the care my mother received and the support provided to me.

Our Visits Here
When I visit my sister I see that she is fine. Her husband visits her too and he has spoken with the marketing director to get some updates. She sat with my sister and they had a long chat and she seemed happy and even smiled. The Memory Care has a clean environment and she is eating good meals. She still loves to have her coffee too. She also looks much healthier since she has been here.

My mother has been here about a year. She seems really happy and well cared for. Everyone is really nice and helpful. My only complaint would be the price of guest meals going up to $9, 00. Not only this big a deal though. Over all we have been well satisfied with this transition.

Great activity program and [Removed] is so engaged with the residents and so helpful. [Removed]is so helpful as well. Pleased with the many activities and kindness of the staff. A Place for Mom has scored Morning Pointe of Lexington-East 2 out of 10 using our proprietary review score.

We assign review scores to give a more reliable view into senior living communities and home care agencies. Our review scores prioritize reviews that are recent — the past 24 months — because we know families need current information when choosing senior care.

Those with many recent, positive reviews receive a high review score, while providers with few recent reviews — regardless of how positive — receive a lower review score. Communities with no recent reviews will not have a review score, even if older reviews are positive. The maximum A Place for Mom review score a community can receive is 10 points.
