Recommended
My father is currently a resident at Holiday Genesee Gardens and everything has been great for him at this facility so far. The food is awesome. The staff is super friendly and feel like family. They are super helpful, too. I would recommend Holiday Genesee Gardens to others for Independent Living and have already.

Our family had an in-person tour as well as having prior experience and [name removed] was very attentive and patient with trying to find the right fit. The staff and residents were super friendly. We really liked the location and amenities. Ultimately didn't end up there because of the cost and it just did not have the recourses.

Nice Community
We picked this community becasue we have another family member here. It is a classy looking place, and everyone is extremely nice from the cleaning to food staff. They bend overbackwards, and answer any questions that we have. Overall, I would recommend to other families.

Happy with our choice
My husband describes the building as reminding him of a mansion in Gone with the Wind. There's a wide curving stairway coming down from the second floor to the first which you see upon entering the building and from the dining room.
We visited three senior living facilities last year. This was by far the cheeriest, cleanest facility. Staff is attentive. Food is good with a nice variety. You are eating in a dining room not a cafeteria. We would live there.
The apartments are cleaned weekly. The dining room staff remembers what my brother-in-law likes to eat and chats with him every meal. The building has just been repainted outside and the parking area has been refinished. The facility is well maintained

Everything for the most part is great with Genesee Gardens.
Wish they had a better activities program as it is lacking currently.
The food also needs some improvement with healthier options and more selections.

Make sure you get clarity on what you're purchasing. We had some confusion at the beginning. But overall, the people are really nice, and they've done really well at integrating my loved one so far. The food is really good as well.

A great place for my mom
They're very nice people. They were very helpful in getting my loved one settled. A lot of depends on how the resident accepts being there. The apartments are very nice. They seem to be well maintained. My loved one is a little bit of a picky eater, and she says they just don't make the food like she does.

This is a nice community for elder people who do not need a lot of medical care. If they have memory issues this is not a good community for your loved ones. The facility is very clean and very nice. The majority of the staff are very accommodating and very friendly, there are a few that are not.

I would recommend, good experience
We chose Genesee Gardens because of the services provided for the value. The apartment sizes at the facility are sufficient for what she needs. She likes the food for the most part, if there are any meals she does not like she can go warm something up in her room. She gets 3 meals a day here, has a studio apartment, they have activities daily for residents to participate in and have a trolley bus that takes them where they want to go if they sign up. Overall I would recommend to others who are looking.

Excellent Place for Retiring from a House
I would tell others to check out the community. Overall aesthetics and the rooms are nice her. The grounds are very nice and appealing.
The communication with the staff was okay and took some time for the community to let us know when it was available to see our friend.

I would recommend
It has been a good experience so far with Genesee Gardens. We chose this facility because of the value for the money and it was a very nice place. It included all utilities and even cable, so the only thing you have to pay for is your phone. One thing I am disappointed in is that they said they would have a bus available to take residents different places, but because of covid they hardly run at all. They go to doctors 10 miles from the facility, but only Tuesday and Thursday, so we have to make special trips more frequently than we thought we would have to. Overall, I would definitely recommend to others looking.

"This is My Home"
I have lived here for a few years and am very happy here. No place is perfect but the facility is bright, clean and management is wonderful. There are some problems with the dining right now, but I know things will eventually work out. Our manager has been in the kitchen cooking, in the dining room serving and busing tables. Our assistant manager has also been serving and busing. There are also some residents who, I believe, should be in an assistant living facility, but there is nothing I can do about that. This is my home and the other residents are my family. I highly recommend this facility.

Great Value
Very attractive facility. Management is always helpful. I've lived here for 2+ years and look forward to many more to come. Activities are plentiful and offer a wide variety too all. They include Casino trips monthly, games, auchines, Some residents need more care and should live in assisted living facilities rather than here. The food here is plentiful and offers a variety to choose from. Quality of food is fair to good. The rent seems to be very fair when you consider all that is offered and there are many rental plans offered. I would recommend others to consider Gen. Gardens. This is an attractive, cleanly, and well kept residence. I have looked at others and many are more expensive, dirty, and offer much less for the cost.

There is no where on line to do a review for GENESEE GARDENS (a HOLIDAY RETIREMENT COMMUNITY) and after a lot of thinking I decided that people should know about it.
When you call, they do NOT return your call. When you email cooperate, they do not respond. This was for an entire week.
When you move in you give a $1700 non refundable deposit. You are told there is NO LEASE (it is month to month). When move our cake I found out “THAT GIRL HAD BEEN FORED” so there was no one to back up what I had been told.
Now, when you move out there is a form they never tell you about ( AHEAD OF TIME OR AT THE MOVE IN TIME). This a a “Special form”. IF YOU DO NOT FILL OUT THIS SPECIAL FORM they proceed to tell you you will be billed an additional month at $3100. If you give them written notice it is not valid unless it is in this special form and if you call to give them notice it is unacceptable.
When you move out, I was told by [name removed], the manager, that there is NO DUMPSTER to throw away two cushions and a lamp. I was told that there were two remotes and they only found one however only one tv was ever hooked up.
The maintenance man had said he’d move a lazy boy to another tenant that requested it. [name removed], the manager, told me on moving day, that he could not do it. So, on moving day the movers I WAS PAYING were given the wrong apartment number and then WHEN THEY LUGGED IT all the way back to the apartment they were given the correct one and moved it again on my dime.
If you live there as a tenant and something happens the front desk tells the caller they can NOT GO DOWN and check on that tenant. This particular tenant had had a grand mall seizure and by the time I got the ambulance there he was code blue. This is what an assisted living home does?
I have done friends who’s parents are here. I felt you should know how they act when it is move out time. They refused to give 10 days rent back for the month of March. They wanted to charge for the full month of April, no one returns your calls and I did not get a response to my several emails.
