Extended Family of Wayland provides the support elders need to remain independent and happy, living the rest of their lives in their own home and on their own schedule. We bring all the features of assisted living to you. Most assisted living or retirement facilities are designed with economies of scale in mind. Services are designed to be efficiently and economically provided with as much of the look and feel of personalized service as they can muster.

Around this core of services they strive to create a home-like environment. Many do a wonderful job. But, in most cases the elder does not have a need for nor the interest in many of the amenities they are paying for as part of their rent. On top of this the elder has had to move from their long time home.

Extended Family brings to your home those services you need to remain living independently. Whether it be personal care, assistance with household chores or cleaning, maintenance, transportation to appointments or social engagements – even someone to go to the opera or a ball game with.

While you will generally be paying for each service as you go, you are only paying for those services you need; and you can adjust what services you receive as your needs change, in either direction. Our goal is to allow you to age in place, gracefully and on your own terms.

Along with these services, Extended Family provides other support not available from other home care agencies related to developing a plan for aging in place beyond simply sending people over to the house to do things. The key to staying in your own home is avoiding a crisis. This is why we provide support and coaching related to staying healthy, both mentally and physically and also help you keep your home environment safe. We will help with every aspect of staying healthy and happy at home!
