Extended Family of Wayland takes a comprehensive approach to elder care by combining home care with care management and logistical support. We are ready, willing, and able to do whatever someone needs or wants, bringing the features of assisted living to you. Our mission is to work with you and your family to provide the support you need to remain as independent as possible. It may be temporary, around–the-clock care or simply being “on-call” for emergencies for those who do not have local family available. Our role is not limited to scheduling staff to provide care or support; our role is to make the life of the elder AND their family less stressed and more fulfilled. Our approach is to become part of your extended family so that when a challenge presents itself you can comfortably include us in the problem solving process. Most families caring for an elderly loved one are going through it for the first time. We are member of the family who has gone through it before and can offer insights and ideas to consider that may not be obvious. And because we offer all the services you might need, we are not simply going to say: ”here are the four things you need to do.” Rather, we are going to say: “here are the four things that need to be done; you do these two and we will do these two.”Avoiding a crisis is part of a good Aging in Place plan. While most people wait until they are in crisis to reach out for help, we look for opportunities to help our clients avoid them. Our array of services includes support and coaching related to staying healthy, both mentally and physically, and also help you keep your home safe.

"My mother called me today to tell me, that at age 94, she is in
love for the first time in her life. She loves the
retirement community, has friends now, has activities, and she has
blossomed. I was so sure she was headed for a dementia
unit and suddenly, she is this new person. I couldn't have done any
of this without your help and support every step of the way. You
have been amazingly helpful and supportive."

"My adviser checked in with us periodically just to let us know
she was there. I would not have been able to go through
this alone and knowing she was there eased the burden of making
this life-changing decision. Today my mom is happy and
