Dad was a short term rehab patient. The staff, nurses, doctor, PT, OT and speech therapist were all very attentive and professional. He was even impressed with the meals. Personal Care
My aunt has been a resident of Concordia for two years. I would like to commend the staff for the excellent care she has been given especially during these trying time with all the Covid-19 restrictions. The staff has always responded to my questions and concerns in a timely manner. They are friendly and always have a smile on their face I would especially like to thank all the front desk help, nursing staff and activities coordinators for going above and beyond. . I would highly recommend this facility to anyone .

Great Staff
Although this facility is grossly understaffed and response times were at times lengthy, the staff was kind and helpful. I would like to acknowledge some of the staff who went above and beyond while doing the work of double the staff. [removed[ I would especially like to acknowledge [name rmeoved], CNA. At 70 years old, she works double shifts, 6 days a week. She is quick to accommodate the request of the patients, whether it’s her job or not. She always has a smile on her face and, at a time when people are their most vulnerable, she makes sure that her patients are treated with dignity and respect. I would recommend this facility, however, I hope more staff is hired before a patient or employee are injured.

Concordia Harmony Monroeville
We also had a very bad experience with Concordia of Monroeville and will never recommend this facility. The therapists are very good, but the care my mother received while there was terrible. The nurse aides were non-responsive and lacked any ounce of concern or compassion with the exception of maybe one aide. Most were not nice to her. And the meals they served were terrible. Management really needs to fix this (or is the management part of the problem?)

Encouragement in a good facility.
The staff that cared for me both in assisting with dressing and other personal care activities, with distribution of medicines, and with activities to engage the mind and spirit ranged from excellent to good. I was satisfied with my care and if I had to return to personal care in Monroeville, I would return here. Highlights included the cheerful and efficient staff in the dining room, the movies chosen by the the assistant activities director, and the ice cream and beverages which were special treats once a week at the hands of the activities director. Even for short term residents such as myself, these little touches were fun to anticipate and satisfied that sweet tooth. Meals were good but the best part was breakfast where a resident may order eggs made in any way. The cheese omelette was always excellent. At each meal there are choices and this helps to improve the items offered. Overall, I was satisfied with my stay and the encouragement I received to improve and leave.

Concordia Monroeville
Concordia in Monroeville,PA We had a very bad experience there and we will never recommend this facility. It’s unfortunate because the therapists were very good, it’s everything else there. My husband was supposed to transfer after surgery to Harmony for rehab only to find when ambulance arrived late Friday night, there was not a bed available so they placed him into Concordia. 1. The nurses aides; lack of compassion and respect, when you buzz for help there is slow to no response. They were constantly on cell phones sitting behind the desk and looked at you annoyed that we interrupted them to ask for something. Lights were buzzing in patients room but that didn’t matter. If it was a life threatening call that is a very concerning thought. 2. Dietary issues; due to extensive surgery he required a very special diet. Never once did a meal come in that he could eat. I provided the diet instructions to the supervisor, but over the weekend they could not provide his dietary needs. I had to provide meals because he couldn’t eat what they gave him. By Tuesday the regular dietician was in and understood the diet but my husband was discharged that day. The Care & diet needs over the weekend should not be compromised like it is because their regular/full time staff is not in. 3. Blood withdrawal in the middle of night. Nurse came into room in the middle of the night, did not introduce herself and told my husband “this is going to be a big pinch and it’s going to hurt”. Who says that?!? His arm was so bruised by that. Next day he mentioned this to the day time nurse and she told him they should not be drawing blood in the middle of the night. This is incredibly upsetting to us. 4. House cleaning. Needless to say I had to clean bathroom with gloves and Clorox. 5. Last item, when my husband got home we found they left an IV in his arm!!! We had visiting nurse remove it. I can go on and on but I wanted to share this experience to help you be informed.

The people are the best!
My father was at Concordia Monroeville for a little more than a month before his passing. Everyone I ran into there was fantastic. Attentive, caring, compassionate and they really know their stuff. From the Nurses to the Aides; PT/OT; Administration-- top shelf. So happy he was there as his time came to an end. Also have to mention the Good Samaritan Hospice; wonderful, can't say enough about them.

Not a nice place
Most of the nurses are nice and actually like their job. 99% of the aides are horrible. Lazy, ALWAYS ON THEIR CELL PHONES while lights are going off !! When you ask for help or for something your treated like your interrupting something important they’re doing when they’re supposed to be caring for you !! When my friend was discharged, they wanted her to WAIT IN THE HALLWAY OR LOBBY for hours so they could clean the room so the next person could come in !!! Unbelievable. I don’t know how a place can run like that. The evening “supervisor” was a joke. Just stared at you when you asked a question and spent more time picking at her fingernails. Not someone who seems to know how to be in charge of all those peple. wouldn’t feel safe if my life was being looked after by her. There was a couple different supervisors on the day shift that were better, one was really nice and helpful and the other was t very nice at all.

Inadequate care
Wow, I really don’t know where to start. This is by far one of the worst run nursing homes out there. I have never been in a skilled care facility that every worker lacks compassion or empathy for any of the individuals there. If you ask for something ( and I mean anything) for your loved one , they always respond by saying that they are busy. The funny thing is most of the time they are sitting at the desk. This facility outwardly tells its patients that they are short staffed. That is not something that should be told to anyone nor should any individual need to worry about that. My loved one was not incontinent AT ALL, but Condordia would not take him to the bathroom ever so he became that way. The staff tries to appease you when presented with issues and nothing ever changes. Concordia is a horrible place. I would not send my dog there Please look elsewhere if you want decent care for your loved one.

Would not return.
My mother was extremely fond of the activities and raved about the activities director. However, response time in helping my mother out of the bathroom was extremely poor. Bathing times appeared allusive even though originally agreed upon. My mother often went 4 to 5 days without. Medical attention to colds was average at best. Nursing for other issues such as medications, etc. were good. Time response to most requests were very slow.

I would recommend taking a look at this community.
The staff are patient, however I am not fond of their policy to have her use a wheelchair to go downstairs when she is able to walk. The first and second floors of this community are nice. The third floor is skilled nursing and it seems more like a hospital. My mom was at this community prior to the new owners taking over and it is a much nicer and cleaner community. The assisted living is private pay only. My aunt likes the food and participates in some of the daily activities.
