It is wonderful to have people around him who are aware of his speech difficulties and make an effort to include and converse with him. When we are there visiting, the staff is very friendly and welcoming. The place is beautiful and the common areas are very clean, however the personal apartment, doesn't seem to get cleaned and we wish the communication was better. We worry about staff turnover and wonderful if the staff may not be treated well or fairly compensated. May the owners could make a little less and pay the staff more so they will stick around. <h3>Our Community</h3>
<p>Canyon Winds may be one of the most stunning retirement communities in the Mesa area. Everything is beautiful and modern – from the buildings themselves to our manicured lawns, the interior design, and all of the furniture and artwork. You’ll notice that not only are our staff more than welcome to tend to our residents’ needs, but that this focused care translates to high morale amongst those who call Canyon Winds home. When you exit the building and continue on your tour, you’ll notice our resort style swimming pool or outdoor entertainment area. We have outdoor seating areas where you can sit and read, or relax with a friend (or three).</p>
<h3>Living Arrangements</h3>
<p>Every apartment has a balcony, full-sized washers and dryers, and are large enough to feel just like home. There are different floor plans so you can navigate whatever feels best for you, and pets are welcome, too! Each floor plan is designed to give our residents different options depending on the specific care type that they require. There are separate layouts illustrating different levels of accessibility in order for our staff to best care for our residents.</p>
<h3>Onsite Activities</h3>
<p>Both indoors and out, there are plenty of options at our community to keep you busy no matter what may suit your mood. Canyon Winds has a resort-style swimming pool and offers water aerobics three times a week, as well as water-based yoga. It’s also a great place to simply relax if you want to spend some time outside cooling down in the sun. We have a theatre room to screen your favorite films or maybe sit and watch the big game. Other interior rooms are dedicated towards arts & crafts, and reading rooms are available for a more relaxed setting. Holidays can be spent with your neighbors and visiting loved ones, and Canyon Winds displays our famous hospitality to your visitors as well! </p>
<h3>Dining</h3>
<p>We have a beautiful dining room and a resident chef preparing food, and the portions are up to you – just ask for another serving! We have brand new dinnerware and have worked with local interior designers to create a beautiful space. Daily specials are offered and we have a solid favorites menu where the most popular dishes are always available. We even offer room service if our residents decide they’d prefer to enjoy the privacy of their room, with snacks and drinks available during kitchen hours. </p>
<h3>Personal Services</h3>
<p>Many of our personal services are enough to make residents never need to leave. Canyon Winds has an on-site salon featuring a beautician and barber – these staff members make sure all of your personal grooming is taken care of, including hot foam shaves for those who need the help. If you want to get out for a bit, you can ride in our wheelchair-accessible shuttle bus. These buses, along with minivans and SUVs, are also available to take our seniors to their medical appointments and routine visits, outside events, shopping trips, and restaurants. Full-service laundry and dry cleaning are provided so you’ll never have to concern yourself with detergent or monitoring the wash cycle.</p>
<h3>Religious Services</h3>
<p>Canyon Winds is near many houses of worship, and shuttles are made available to those who want to practice in the congregation of their choosing.</p>
<h3>Visiting Care</h3>
<p>We keep a visiting doctor and nurse on retainer who make regular visits to our facility to evaluate our residents and ensure they’re staying happy and healthy. Canyon Winds also employs a visiting dental professional to provide oral examinations.</p>
<h3>Moving Assistance </h3>
<p>At Canyon Winds, we offer the following assistance with move-ins if you or your loved one need help with the transition:</p>
<p>We can do an assessment of the space you are moving out of to estimate how long the move will take, and what sort of assistance is required. This step is helpful for individuals who have urgent care needs and must move into our community quickly by necessity.</p>
<p>The long research process of finding the right community fit for you or your loved one is difficult enough - making a long distance move once you’ve found your home can be even harder. Our services are designed for local families who need help moving a loved one across state lines. We can also assist families moving from further locations. All efforts are coordinated with interested families by our eldercare professionals to ensure a successful move and a positive transition.</p>

<p>Canyon Winds is licensed as an <em>Assisted Living Center</em> with <em>Directed Care Services</em>, and includes <em>Memory Care</em> certification. These terms are defined as follows: </p>

This can include adult foster care, supervisory care services, personal care services or directed care services provided on a continuing basis. This type of facility provides resident rooms or residential units to eleven or more residents.</p>
