Feels Like Home
I thought Brookdale was very knowledgeable and helpful. The community is a home setting that feels like home. It is what I want and like for my dad. I like that they take animals and my dad taking his dog with him is important. I like that the staff is engaged with residents and activities.

The workers at Brookdale Torbett Alzheimer’s Community really pay attention and don’t leave their jobs often. I think this place is the best for anyone who needs help with their memory. I would tell others to go here.

Great facility
I was really trying to find a home quickly for my mother that was in the hospital waiting for placement for three weeks. [name removed]
Was so wonderful and actually worked hard to help me get mom
Quickly into there facility because my mom was needing placement asap.
All worked out and mom is here and adjusting little more everyday.

Provides Basic Care
It was alright. They were the only location that could handle the severity of my father's Alzheimer's, but the stress still wore down the staff. We hired multiple additional people to come to Brookdale daily and look after him one on one because he was just more than the staff could handle.

Very Pleased with Care at Torbett Memory Care
I need to add that we are extremely happy with the care of Brookdale Torbett. About 80% of the staff are hard working and very caring. I have visited many times with a duration of 5-6 hours per visit. This is a memory care facility and it's probably difficult to get reliable staff but we have con the whole been very impressed with the care my mother has received. She tends to fall and they have a camera in each room to report any falls. We have been notified each fall and the staff will use their personal phone while in the room so I can be included in the assessment and decisions for my mom. They get to know my mom and report to me how she is doing when I'm not there. They are heroes working there. We had an unsatisfactory experience with Brookdale Canyon Lakes assisted living and it took a lot of convincing to try another Brookdale but the memory care is so much better, night and day! We feel it's a safe place. Couldn't say that for the other AL.

Inadequate Care. Terrible Experience.
I would never take a loved one there again. They do not care for their patients. My husband died in their care when he was perfectly fine previously. They didn’t give him anything to drink, he got totally dehydrated, and his kidneys shut down.

My Family Member Made a Quick Adjustment to the New Environment.
My family member made a good adjustment, which reflects positively on Brookdale. He seemed comfortable there pretty quickly after moving in. They seem to be maybe a little understaffed. I've had one maintenance issue that they've been slow getting around to. But my family member has made a set of new friends and seems to like the food there. I like the convenience of the physicians they bring in that visit in-house. And they also coordinate with an external pharmacy that deals with the meds.

My review of Brookdale Torbett
Brookdale has been fantastic for our family, we feel very fortunate that our loved one is there. It is not cheap but they have the highest level of care. The executive director [name removed] has been incredible, she is very competent, caring, and knows how to form relationships with our loved ones, our family and the other residents. She understands individual health care plans for each residents The rooms are a little dusty, you can see it on the dark floors but overall it is very clean and they really do amazing work over there. We are happy where she is nice, we know she is in the right place.

A great place for mom
It is expensive, but we do believe they are starting to bring back the activities. We are able to get ahold of anyone within 24 hours with any questions or concerns. They will either call us right back and if they are busy they will send us a text. The communication has been amazing, and they have done a really nice job working with us to allow visits with our loved one.

I see potential - Would recommend, but make sure they're doing their jobs
Definitely keep track of everything, from medications. Keep on top of them and make sure everyone is aware what is going on. Each shift and each care giver is like starting brand new, every day twice a day. The communication doesn't seem to flow very well. Because of that, I'm not very pleased with teh care. The left hadn doesn't seem to know wha tthe right hadn was doing. The staff were very friendly, but I wish they would have picked up the phone sometimes. There was a time my loved one fell, and they didn't call me, and kind of giggled it off as unimportant. I talked to the director about. I wasn't very impressed with her either. I understand that she can't have a personal personal relationship with everyone. But she didn't act like the residetns were people with familie.s It felt more like lip service to my face, and as soon as she turned around it was all business and who are you again? It felt like we just a paycheck to her. Most of the staff just seemed ill prepared for what they needed to do.

Home Away From Home
My loved one seems very happy here. Most days she seems to think she's part of the staff. She's always smiling. The staff is very kind to her. The director is amazing, and has been so great with my loved one. She made the check-in process so seamless, it was like a miracle. We haven't been able to visit due to Covid, but when we moved in it looked spotless.

no home is perfect, talk to others, and do your research. There are pros and cons to every community. Just be realistic about the care that they will receive. Make sure you voice any concerns and be your loved one advocate.

What a blessing
I would give the staff a ten, they are wonderful. I can't even imagine anywhere else that would be more a positive place. The way they received my wife and made her feel a part of the community, She is happy there. Since COVID-19, they send me pictures, and when I call, there is great communication. Each case is going to be different, but for me and my wife. they are absolutely wonderful.

Absolutely love and appreciate this place!
Let me tell you how wonderful this place; I call they answer. I do surprise drop ins and each of the staff is on top of residents needs. My mother chose this place because she was confident they would tend to her, and they have. I love the staff, as does my mother. They make sure she is 100% happy and I admire how well they treat the other residents. It smells clean all the time, it’s well kept, and even I love the food when I’m over for lunch. If ever you have a question; the director, the nurse, Med techs will always take time to answer your questions and make you feel just as welcome as your loved one.

Brookdale Torbett is a safe place.
There needs to be interior updating.
Caregivers need more training in actual hands on care.
Most caregivers are polite and helpful.
Have been using their services for 3 months and was told on move in there would be an activities director in 2 weeks. One just started 1 week ago.
Not the best place, not the worst.
Location convenient for frequent visiting to my mother or would choose somewhere else.
Not a good value for the cost.

This is a good community for the care for a loved one. The staff has been very helpful to his care. He is pleased with the menu of meals. The community is clean and maintained at all times. He is enjoying the activities with the other residents. We would recommend this community for the care of a loved one. We are happy that he is doing well here.
