Staff and residents almost run together in terms of presenting a family-like atmosphere. When my loved one came to Brookdale, a new Director of Nursing had just come on board. The nursing care improved significantly after she got established. Staffing was always a bit short. The cleanliness in public areas was quite good. There was an underlying odor of urine in the halls, but I think that's unavoidable with a bunch of residents struggling with incontinence. My loved one loved the meals. His diet had been miserable and he was delighted to have three meals a day put in front of him. He participated in more activities than I expected and made friends with most of the residents. The move-in process was good. We took advantage of the respite care program, which allowed him to move into a furnished room as soon as he got out of rehab and before we could arrange to have his furniture moved from his home. He LOVED his one bedroom apartment. I would recommend Brookdale Jones Farm to others. For our family, the location was ideal. The relatively large size of the facility provided lots of opportunities for making friends. Other places were fancier, which would have been more to my personal preference, but it was important to me that my parents had that more traditional setting that they were looking for. The location is beautiful. It's close enough to everything but not on a busy highway. It feels very secluded and lovely, and my parents feel very safe there.
