Stay away
After 8 months in the Brian Center my father passed away in November. While there were some aides who were very kind to him, there were others that were not, and they were very short-handed. They often let him sit for long periods of time in dirty depends. They set him in the hallway because he was a fall risk and wouldn't cover him or put pants on him. My mother had to pay $8000 per month because they sold their house right before he went in so he wasn't covered by Medicaid. Now, they owe my mother over $3000 and keep telling her she owes something for this or that and she has to pay before they will give her the refund. They have a charge for 'wheelchair training' that they can't explain, but expect her to pay. He couldn't even sit in a wheelchair, the only chair he was ever in was the one in the room which they would roll into the hall. Mom is still taking care of my disabled sister and in February my nephew, her grandson, went into the hospital for a brain tumor biopsy which bled into his brain causing a stroke. He is still in the hospital, and so she is dealing with all of this on top of the baloney the Brian Center is giving her. She is 85 and I get so angry at these people. I went with her while I was in NC and tried to get something that made sense from the financial administrator, but she just kept saying she wasn't there in November and so has no idea why this is taking so long. If you find yourself at the point where you have to put a loved one in a home, do everything you can to keep them out of here.

Your worse nightmare. Run as fast as you can from this facility.
Do not put a loved one in this facility. My spouse was sent here for rehab following a stroke. They were putting him in a room where the roommate had a virus, I was told I needed to wear a mask. Needless to say I said that was unacceptable, then I was told he would be put in a different room. He had a huge gash on his knee and no one noticed this? His knee was covered in dry blood and I had to show this to the cna/nurse. The bathroom had human excrement on the floor and toilet. Ants were on his blanket. Blinds had no way to open them filthy. He had no pillow and we were told they had a shortage of pillows bring your own. My spouse is a large man and they put him in this reg size wheelchair and he had nothing to rest his arms on. I was told they couldn’t get large wheelchairs in the doorways. They failed to follow hospital discharge instructions for his medications causing him severe pain. Staff made him cry made him feel like he was so fat he was disgusting, that was what a staff member told him. The staff was rude they all seemed to hate their jobs and constantly complained they were understaffed, underpaid and overworked. I moved my spouse ASAP to another facility. Do not even consider this dump. I suspect that some of these ratings were falsely put on the internet. I have no idea how this place could even pass the county health inspection.
