This is NOT my first Rodeo. About six years ago, we found a care home for my Grandmother it was the best decision, she lived there for her for years. I called a place for momMy. I wanted only a care home. A place for mom scores are based on a compile of reviews on the internet in the past 24 months however, one must look at reviews beyond that due To Covid due to some places were not taking in new clients or decided not to operate. therefore one must read reviews beyond the 24 months. I would never be putting my Aunt in ANY type of nursing/Assisted living home!! My choice was Abby’s place. Auntie has Dementia but with no other health issues Dr. says she could have many years at Abby’s. I know Care Homes are THE BEST place for a loved one from experience. Our ground floor units provide the easiest accessibility for those with limited mobility. Choose between a private or shared room, each with different bathroom options, such as wheelchair accessible showers and full-size bathtubs for a soothing soak. Free wi-fi and cable TV is provided to all of our residents. For the safety of anyone prone to roaming, our community is equipped with a safe and secured perimeter. We have a doctor on-call to handle adjustments in medication, provide consultation, and respond to any urgent medical needs. Our community staff can provide assistance with activities of daily living (ADLs) such as grooming and eating, as well as transferring positions, injection administration, wound care, and incontinence care. We are properly equipped and to handle catheter care and tube feeding, including IV insertion and tube management. At our community we recruit first-class visiting specialists, such as podiatrists, dentists, and physical therapists, to aid the maintenance, recovery, and improvement of skills needed for daily living, and to ensure our residents are healthy, fit, and mobile. We also offer adjunct therapies, such as light therapy, which can provide a positive influence on dementia, seasonal depression, and sleep disorders. Abby’s Place provides on-site hospice care as needed, along with respite care, which is a great option for those recovering from a hospital visit, the interim during which a caregiver takes an extended vacation, or simply to experience a senior living trial period. Assisted living facilities can accept residents with dementia and/or Alzheimer’s.
